Spyderfest Magog 2012

Today is the day the event officially starts and I'm getting ready to head out the door but I thought I would start this thread and link it on the front page so you could see how the event here in Magog is going.

I got here Tuesday and spent some time with some of the folks at BRP. I've been here several times before but I don't think I remember the weather being so perfect. :doorag:

This Donald Pomerleau, Spyderfest Magog was his vision. I would really like to see us support each other in Spyderfest USA and Spyderfest CA :thumbup:

I look forward to this thread, but was wondering how do you communicate with them ???? I read the posts where they only speak french.

While accented, all of my friends from Montreal and Quebec speak English, and for reference, one of them is a high school teacher, her main subject for students is in fact English. But she sounds super awesome speaking the French. Several of them were bummed when I ended up not getting to attend Magog this year. HOWEVER, next year, OG redneck TN will go to Canada to cause trouble. I can only imagine I will get to the border to be turned back for booze and guns. (THIS IS A JOKE [please do not derail the thread and have Lamont stab me], I KNOW I CANT BE ROLLING IN THE CA WITH SOME MINI BAR AND SHOTGUN ACKSHUN)

Left home at first light and been up here at Magog since this morning, had a fantastic day. Met Lamont for the first time, his spyder looks better in real life, the pictures don't do it justice.

Language as not been an issue, always found some one to translate. Had lunch and dinner at the event and both times sat with English speaking people. Went on a group ride this afternoon, the tour guide from BRP spoke English and took the time to explain the different sites we visited. Got some video and pictures to post when I get home, only have my iPad with me so can not get the pictures off the camera. Everyone is really friendly, swapping tales and googling each others spyder options.

Hopefully more state side supporters will arrive tomorrow, so far I think it just myself and lamonster representing the states.

Glad I came, it's a great event. I will post some more tomorrow.

I really will miss not being there this year, the last two I went to was a BLAST but still have not recovered from my two wheeler accident well enough to make this trip. For all you funny guy who always give me hell what's the big deal I never ride anyway but trailer my spyder, well being in a wheelchair I still can't load/unload the spyder to be there. I hope everyone have a wonderful time and Lamont I look very forward to your updates and photos and videos. have a wonderful time everyone.

Folks I met in the parking lot of the hotel just before taking off for Spyderfest. They were french but spoke English.

This was on the way to Spyderfest, I just had to stop and take a pic of it.

I was the first one there. This was pretty cool.

Another nice lady I met in Daytona that lives here. She had her RT painted white and it was so bright it made mine look yellow when I parked next to her. Very nice RT.

This guy was taking a lot of pics with a really nice camera. He spoke English too.

This is a church we stopped at.

They had prayer for our riding group.

All the Spyders were blessed. He was a pretty happy guy and I guess this is something they do here. :doorag:

This is Maude from BRP. She helped explain to me what was going on. Nice lady.

They make their own cheese here and they had samples out side you could try. Then inside you could buy some. It was very good.

We stopped a lot on this ride but it was nice.

Back to Spyderfest. One of the vendors setting up. They spoke English.

Nice lift, did not speak English but he did share some cantaloupe with me. :thumbup:

This is where Joe and Reggie were setup.

There were two gals that drove up on bicycles that have been looking at the Spyder and wanted to get a picture on it to show their friends.

This was the other gal and she spoke good English.

Reggi installing fender lights. They installed a ton of these yesterday.

Everyone wanted a pic with the RT. :doorag:

For dinner that had us grab a steak and cook it. That worked out pretty cool. It was a large cut of ribeye with a nice salad.

I pretty much had a crowd around the RT all day. Seemed to be a younger group of folks here than the US Spyderfest.

This is the lake right across the street.

The had a Spyder skills test that was pretty good. Some of these guys and gals were pretty darn good.

They did have a Spyder light show and parade and I got some video of that and I'll post it when I get a good connection. Today is the BIG day and I'll have lots of pics then. :doorag:
