• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

nice looking spyder

Aren't chains typically the weak link?

They have to go chain drive when making the swing arm that long and the tire that wide....... seen a few of these done... Like Ron said----- show bike--- not for real riding.

This indeed was the one at Spyderfest in 2011. Pretty cool looking.... just not practical.

Where do you see that? I don't see the reserve price listed.

I asked him. I think some auctions on ebay are hurt by not knowing the reserve. Look at the guesses here...30k, 40k... A friend of mine who collects things is interested in it and at 26k may very well buy it.:dontknow: Doubt he would ride it much.

:agree:

I always list things with a Buy It Now option so people know what I'm really wanting out of it...... or put your reserve at your starting price.... no sense wasting peoples time guessing and trying to meet the reserve. at 26K I would think he's taking a loss on it.....

Well if you think that $26,000 will make the owner start sounding happy, throw a bid of $25,000 on the table and let him sweat a bit... :roflblack:

Hey Firefly I agree with you about him taking a HUGE loss on this. I have built a few hot rods and a few trucks and you never make what you put into it. If he even breaks even on the cost of materials I would be surprised. All the labor in a project like this goes under the file(for the love of it):roflblack: because very seldom unless your some big name builder(Chip Foose) will you make your total invest back. I would love to have this bike but it truly would be a trailer queen and nothing more here where I live, the roads would snap that thing in two. But I still think its awesome, maybe this will give some builders the stepping blocks to more hard core custom Spyders

Just stirring the pot a bit to see what rises to the top! :roflblack:
If I EVER made a $25,000 mistake, you guys would be deprived of my good sesne of humor. I've decided that I'd rather be in here; raising up a fuss once in a while...

Actually, If I remember correctly, if the reserve isn't met, the seller has the option to offer the item to the highest bidder. I don't think the highest bidder is obligated to buy it. Or, i could be mis-remembering ala Roger clemens :roflblack::roflblack:

Probably fraudulent...else the listing would still be visible even if he ended it early.
