I have a jason ION Trailer which is now sold by Time out trailers, it has all available options except the cooler rack options.

Time out sells the kit for $200 plus $22 shipping to MA, I'm about to place the order but before I do, anyone know of alternative options. Better, cheaper etc.

The Kit Includes (set price is $199)

Cooler Rack - $65
Cooler - $49
Cooler Cover - $89
Hitch Pins - $6 each
Bungie Cords - $2 each

Does this look like a good deal?

That SEEMS a bit on the pricier side of fair... but I've also got no options for you. Why not tangle with a Google search of the world for cooler racks? See what they can find for you. Good luck and happy hunting!

I have been searching google, amazon, bushtec and most motorcycle/trailer web stores.

Just one of the those hard things to find unless you stumble across one. Bushtec have one but its even more money.

This is classic, charge what we can because there unique, don't get me wrong a business should make money just want to get the best value I can.

Basically the mount clamps to the trailer tongue, the cover press studs to the mount and holds the cooler from toppling out of the mount.

Not unique to any particular brand just clamps to any trailer tongue.

Handy to keep water cool (obviously) but it helps in getting the tongue weight right while leaving the trailer to hold more stuff.

I use a normal cooler inside the trailer at the moment which works but have to dig deep to get the water out each time, handy on the out side I would guess.

My only negative thought on this is that would it not stay a cool as long as the one on the inside, on the inside it blocked from direct sun.

The hitch model black cover may attract more heat and the ice may melt, or does it stay cool as the air coming off the bike keeps it cool?

procrastinating again.

Odd...

Seems like some expanded metal a small frame and welded to the tongue with some big lots bungies would do the same thing... But what do I know.

I could properly get the rack fabricated and an ice box local, but its the cover, got have the cover bare ice box would look ugly.

Thinking off just ordering the rack and cover and buy the cooler local, I'm sure there all just standard size. It would cut down on shipping as well.

sucks getting older getting harder and harder to make decisions, if that or I've caught OCD from watching too much Monk.

If you know someone that is handy with thread, cover aint nothing but a thang.

Nice trailer...kinda like the one I just bought...teardrop...Mine came with all the accessories so I didn't have to search around...Good luck with your hunt.

If you build a rack or buy your own cooler, be careful of the size. Even a tiny 25 qt cooler can weigh over 60 pounds completely filled. Remember the allowable tongue weight is 40 pounds. 60 pounds at the front of the trailer can easily add 30 or more punds to the tongue weight at the hitch.

The trailer as a tongue stand close to the hitch socket. When I first started loading the trailer I used to use a bathroom scale to check tongue weight.

I'm pretty good to loading it now, I have a small internal cooler I use, doesn't hold much just a few bottles of water and ice. Normally my tongue weight is around 20lb.

Figured although this is bigger I don't have to fill it up, as long as the water bottles going in a cold and dump a small bag of ice should be enough.
