There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Had an accident today....

Wow that is a bad day. I am glad you are OK. Good luck putting your Spyder back together.

Have you ever ridden an RT?

I've been riding one for two days now and can tell you that it corners pretty much just like my GS.. and this RT doesn't even have the Elka's installed yet.

I was shocked because I've heard from so many RS riders that the RT handles like crap, can't corner hard, etc...... and I have to say.... they're wrong. I had no problems hitting 35 mph corners at 70, etc...... Also had no problem breaking the rear tire loose from a dead start (don't tell Len.... lol).

It's no about the sporty RIDE... the RT can handle it... it's about the LOOK for me... where the RT looks more classy.. less like a snow-mobile, etc...... but more of an older persons ride... which I'm trying to avoid becoming..... lol

As far as get up and go... I'm also impressed at how responsive the RT is...

The look....ahhh...the look... Well, that's clearly a personal thing. I don't care for the RT look as it's just too big and cumbersome looking to me. There's no question it's a great bike, but we each gravitate to what we like most. If I had to start all over, I'd still get a RS...then again, I don' t plan on riding around the country all the time as I have to work! You have over 50k miles on your GS...you ride to events all over the place...the RT might make more sense to you...but please, don't justify it as being as quick as the RS:p...however, it is more comfy for longer rides, for sure...

Drum roll please. And the winner is...........Spyder RT:yes:

Dan's Spyder will be put to bed and he will get an RT. It makes sense with all the traveling he does. Great comfort with good performance.

Come on Dan, just do it. Or like I mentioned in another thread, just buy one of each.:2thumbs:

+1 :agree: Stop being a drama queen and just do it :roflblack:

Firefly, We have not met but I just want you to know that first thank God that you came through this without injury or worse. Second in your decision making process, I bought an RTS last year and my wife tells everyone that I have a terminal case of Peter Pan Syndrom. You are only as old as you let yourself be know matter what you ride. In reading threads on this site I'd say you have just as many friends on RT's as you do that ride RS's. No one can make this decision for you just enjoy the decision you come up with. Ride safe and hope to meet some day.

Dan I'll say this much the last 3 days with this has been a ride bro! Thanks for trusting and having faith in me to help you out, friends till the end and brother this ain't the end! Have a safe ride home on your new R? ......... Na I'll let you tell them

You big tease!

Well, I made my decision..... Bought a new Spyder and am heading home this morning trying to beat the heat. Len has been amazing- as has the whole Cowtown gang. I knew I would buy my next Spyder from them---- just didn't plan on it being this soon.

Insurance totaled bike and gave me $14,000 for mine plus $3,000 for accessories... Minus $500 deductible.... So $16,500 for a 2008 GS with 56,000 miles. Can't really do any better than that.

Since they only covered $3,000 in accessories..... I only left $3,000 worth of accessories on the spyder.... Well.. Actually left plenty more.

I left the Chad, Elkas, HMF exhaust, Corbin seat, ESI risers, Pazzo lever, highway pegs, fog lights, HID's.

Wanted to make sure insurance easily had $3,000 in accessories....

They are under the delusion they can get $8,500 for that bike selling it as salvage. GOOD LUCK! It would only bring around $10-$11k on the open market WITH all the goodies before it had a bent frame and twisted swing arm.

Oh........ I almost forgot........

The new Spyder is............................

Before I purchased my 2012 RS-S I found a 2010 RS salvage for $8,100 with a lot more damage than yours (only upgrade touring windshield) that was 3 months ago and it is still there.

Don't forget to ask for free BEST warranty offer!

I'm hoping for green, not because I think its best, because I think you and Mickey in matching leathers riding around the country would be funny as :cus:. Just promise me that you two will not get some "Armed and Dangerous" assless chaps.

So sorry to hear about you accident, :yikes:but very glad you are alright,:2thumbs: I too thank my lucky stars that I was on my Spyder when I was hit by a red light runner, totaled my Spyder but I was not hurt, received a bruise on my elbow only. My totaled 2011 Spyder was replaced with a new 2012, so I came out of it OK:yes:
