• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Video of installing Elka Stage 1 Plus shocks on an RTS???

Flight Risk

GOS member (Girls On Spyders)
Does anyone know of a video here that shows how to install Elka Stage 1 Plus (front shocks) on an RTS-SE5? Len at Cowtown told me he doesn't have one but would talk me through it.

I am hoping someone knows of a video ............

Help appreciated. I'm a "visual" person........tell me how and all I hear is "yadda, yadda, yadda"

Well, I am not sure if anyone filmed me installing shocks at Spyderfest, but I did enough of them to know its not that hard.:D

However, my offer to you still stands. I will be in Fort Worth at the end of July and if we can make arrangements to meet, I would gladly install the for you. I would just provide you the small list of tools I would need and we could get it taken care of.

Regards,

John@ Elka

Thanks John.....I may have to take you up on that if my buddy can't do it. Would hate to have those beauties and wait a month to get them installed. I knew you would say tools.........Lordy, where did I put them??? :dontknow:

Are the bolts that hold on the shocks supposed to be torqued to a certain point, or just as tight as you can get?

Good question..........when I get the shocks, I will call Len at Cowtown OR John with Elka. I'm thinking tight as you can get it but I will make sure first.

When the Elka people (John & helpers) were installing the front shocks at Cowtown during Spyderfest there wasn't a torque wrench in sight. They tightened the bolts snugly with just an ordinary socket wrench.
