• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Trike class?

Have been looking for a trike class that will also qualify for getting license endorsement. I don't want to do the regular 2 wheel class and then have to switch back to my RT. I emailed the MSF about thisbut have received no reply. Any ideas out there? The Harley people I talked to don't have any ideas about this. Thanks

3 Whel Basic Rider Course-Training Sites

Muonwhiz, according to this list (don't remember wher I got It) the closest, and only current location in AZ, to Tuson is at Luke AFB in Phoenix. Info follows: Arizona Progressive School of Riding, 7424 North Homer Dr, Luke AFB, AZ 85309, (623) 975-6264. Since it appears the course is conducted on a military base, you'll have to give them a call to find out specifics. It may be open to military or military dependents only. I was stationed there from 1982-84 Good luck. Dale

Not sure about Arizona, but some states will let you take the riding part of the examination on the Spyder. Provided that someone with a license takes you to the facility, all you need to do is take the written part and then schedule for the riding part. My wife did the 2 wheel class and did not care for it. However, I did the 2 wheel MSF and although I knew that I was getting a :spyder2: before I did the course, learning on 2 wheels gave me a great experience.

Good luck!!!

When I was going to get my license, I knew you could take the road test on the Spyder. I e-mailed the company that taught a sidecar/trike course (and spoke to the owner via telephone), to ask if they would be able to accommodate my Spyder, and if I would be able to get a road test waiver card upon completion of the course. :clap:Fortunately all went well, and I became legal!!! Try doing an online search for motorcycle training (or a trike-sidecar ) course in your area, and call the company to see if they can help you. Good luck, and keep us updated!

I took the trike and hack class in Hood River, OR - while it was a MSF level class, there's no ability to get a motorcycle endorsement (up here) on any type of trike or hack. You must take the 2 wheel course. In Oregon, you can take the two day (weekend) course, and get your endorsement, when you pass the course.

I highly recommend taking the trike & hack course anyway. You will come away with a clear understanding of the Spyder's superiority.

Since you are in Az. there is a motorcycle group called Gold Wing Road Riders Association. They are locted in Phenix. They have trike classes all the time. You may have to join them, but it is only $55 for one year. Hope this helps.

I've taken the GWRRA trike class and I highly recommend it for both new and experienced :spyder2: ryders. In fact, when me and my wife took the course, most of the trikes were :spyder2:s. However, this is as an advance class, meaning that GWRRA will request that the rider have their "M" license, the course it not to obtain the state's "M" license or endorsement.
