• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Motel Room In Durango Available

I will not be attending the events in Durango later this month. I have a room (2 queen beds) reserved at the Ramada in Durango from Wed, June 20 to Sat, June 23. Because of the outrageous anti-cancellation policies of Ramada, I will be out $287. Clearly, I'd like to recoup that money.

If anyone would like to take the room and pay me the $287, we'd both be happy.

Contact me at [email protected]

kt

ps: I also have a room reserved at the Albuquerque Ramada for the night of the 19th in case you want to ride with the group to Durango on the 20th.

Cancellation Policy

Some motels (owned by Wyndham but others as well) including Ramada have the following policy about cancellations:

Cancellation Policy
There will be no credit or refund for early departures, cancellations, no shows, or changes in your reservation for any reason. Guests will not receive any refund or credit.

As I said, I will be out $287. If you cancel and had a reservation at Ramada, you will be out as well.

i might have to cancel my room also please explain what happen here i dont want to be out anything also.

ok one question to you did you buy this resv through a service or with the hotel themselves i just called the hotel and they told me that i had till the day before to cancel and no pentalty will be charged

You called the Ramada? Not sure why they would have that policy on their confirmation notice if they are allowing cancellations. I made the reservations directly through the motel.

Did you reserve yours through a service?

no i made my resvervation directly with them like i said i just got off the phone and the guy told me i had till the day before to cancel with no pentalys i said ok and thanks for the info.

Most of the hotels have an offer that is the cheapest rate they have and it usually is the first rate you will see but how they offer you this price is with a no cancellation policy for the rate. I paid a little extra per night to avoid the no cancellation rate.

:agree: I did this for Spyderfest, and when it turned out I could not make it I called and the reservation was canceled with no problem. Like madozier said cost a bit more (for me is was about $5.50 a night), but worth it.

Most hotels automatically allow 24 hour cancellations--- without penalty.

The situation in Durango is a bit unique... but I've seen it done at many other high-tourist areas. Usually booking direct is more expensive and you have the option of the slightly higher-priced 'cancellations allowed' fee.

Not ALL Ramada's operate this way as far as I know.

The only way I could see someone being able to get a refund from the Durango Ramada would be if they signed up early enough to get a 'refundable room'.... if they ever offered such a thing.

When I looked into the Ramada I found out that they ONLY were selling non-refundable rooms.

scooterexpress --- I'd be very leery of what they are telling you over the phone about being able to cancel. Go back and check your confirmation email and see what it says.

Ken we will miss you in Durango. I hope you get someone to take your room. I just checked my confirmation with a Wyndham property the Knight's Inn and up to 24 hours prior it is a 20% of one night's rate penalty and less than 24 hours I lose 100% of one night's stay.

they haven't even charged my card yet and i'll protest the charge if they do try to charge on it without my signature theres not a true charge until theres a signature or bought something online but remeber when you buy online they always want that 3 digit code on the back side of card.so without they got nothing the way i see it. also buyer protection against fraudlent charges abides this.if the company making the charge cant prove that i was there the c.c. company don't have to pay.

Well, technically you may be right.. but I'd take your confirmation number and check out the details for sure if I were you.

I know if I don't use the rooms I got I will end up paying for them.... even though I have not been actually 'charged' for them yet either. Typically they don't run the actual charges until you are there in person with the CC in hand.

This a prime example of why I prefer to book online and get an emailed receipt with the complete details of the agreement.... that way I know what I'm in for... no surprises when someone tells me something that might be wrong over the phone.......
