• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Check engine light went on

but all is well. Did about 200 miles yesterday - no problems. Went out today for another 200 miles and it happened when I stopped at Starbucks to get other people. From home to Starbucks its about 5 or 6 miles - no problem. Started it up there and I got the light. Pulled over, turned it off, turned it back on, no problem the rest of the day. It was sitting out in the hot sun while I was at Starbucks.

Anyone have that happen?

That is exactly how my problems started when my instrument cluster went bad. My spyder ran just fine but the check engine light would come on for no apparent reasons and rather randomly. Finely when I took it to my dealer for the second time the whole thing started to go nuts, the break light and other lights started coming on and as I pulled into the dealership, it went into limp mode. Still during all of this, the spyder ran fine. It turned out just to need a new instrument cluster. I hope your problem turns out to be just a simple or even better.

Remember what I told you about changing your shocks????

I had my problem with my check engine light way before I ever changed the settings on my shocks. I had the new instrument cluster installed and that fixed everything. I changed my shock setting after the new instrument cluster was in and it hasn't affected anything other than I have a better ride. I highly doubt it has anything to do with the changing of the settings on the shocks.

:thumbup:A nice big BURNOUT should fix thisnojoke:spyder:

I am hoping and praying I don't have to take it to a dealer till season is over with - from what I hear everyone is waiting forever for a part to come in and that don't fly well w/ me at all. BRP has to step up to getting more parts to dealers rather than waiting for weeks. Sure I know the :spyder:is new but we need some better turn around time when it comes to repairs. I've heard nothing but long wait times and horror stories about something breaking.

I'll second the motion on long wait times for warranty parts. Took three months to get a replacement windshield (which cracked in ten minutes) and longer for the console. Now they are waiting again (nearly a month now) on yet another windshield, and the foglight switch decal they forgot to order. I suspect the parking brake recall parts will be the same. Thank goodness these are not issues which prevent riding the Spyder while we wait.

After my little issue in San Diego I would say check all your fuses and relays and make sure they are all seated well.

If it will bouy your hopes any, Nancy had the check engine light come on suddenly about three months ago. Pulled around the corner, shut it off, waited a couple of minutes, then started it again. No light, and it has never returned. There is hope!

With all them computers in the Spyder, I don't think it would be all that unlikely that there could be a one-time glitch that is basically cured by a reboot (power down) of the computers. The only time I had funky fault messages on my display, they were caused by operator error. I had taken the display out and didn't get it plugged back in all the way. :opps:

Well HDX rode it last night w/ no problem and the light never came on after that - who knows. Just hope it doesn't come on again! Got me a little nervous knowing we were going out of state in the middle of nowhere - didn't want to get stuck.
