• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

About a week and a half ago, I ordered a set of white GloRyders for my new 2012 RT Limited. Last Friday, the 11th, I received my set of GloRyders but, unfortunately, they were BLUE - not white. :gaah: Hey! Stuff happens......I immediately emailed them and explained the situation that, while the blue lights were gorgeous, the Oregon cops would have a field day with me and I'd be pulled over every quarter mile or so, and that I really needed white. Will from the GloRyder Wheel Light Sales Dept immediately emailed me back and today I received (and have installed) the white circuit boards. :clap::clap: I'm learning to love the business' that support SpyderLovers.com. First, it was Reggie at TricLED rendering 110% customer service and now Will at GloRyder. :thumbup::bowdown::thumbup::bowdown::thumbup: You guys ROCK and I'll be giving you more business in the future!!!!
 
Every business can make a mistake, it is all about what they do to correct it that matters most to me?:thumbup:

Since you just put yours in and I've had mine for about 2 years now...is there one battery or two in each side? I simply cannot remember...

We love our GloRyders on Teds Red Sled

2 batteries on one side and 1 battery on the other side. We've had ours for 2 years now as well and love them. Adds SO much more visibility from the sides, where the Spyders have no lights, only reflectors. As for the question of how long do they last, it all depends on how much night ryding you do. They have a motion sensor & a light sensor, so they only come on when the wheels are moving and its dark. Off when sitting still and in daylight to conserve battery life. Since I leave for work before sunrise, and we often ryde alot after dark, ours are in use alot and we usually get about 3 months of use before they start to dim & need batteries replaced. I wouldn't feel safe ryding in the dark without them:firstplace:A Great and Easy safety mod for any Spyder :firstplace:

3 AA batteries in each glo ryder. A set of batteries lasts me a year. We don't have dark in the summer though. Its now light until about 1:00 AM and I am not riding at that time.

thats quite odd about the police pulling you over for blue wheel lights.how is blue wheels affecting the oncoming or infront and behind cars that would make this illegal? did you call and ask dps? can't see how that mod phases the law in this matter i mean it's like a guy on 2 wheels and has leds lighting up his entire engine area with blue/red/green/white and running dowm the road how could that be illegal? the lights aren't directed at any vehicle. so if i was to come to oregon just passing through i could get tickted for having blue lights on my rims? weird law if its true. although i dont know the laws where you are at but it might be nice to know these things when we travel through all states in the u.s
 
Here in New Yokr; Blue lights are for emergency vehicles only.
By the way; Has anybody tried Lithium batteries in their GloRyders yet? I'd be interested in seeing if they actually last longer.
 
Unfortunately, Every state has different laws when it comes to lights

On Teds Red Sled, we actually have the AQUA Gloryders, so the color matches pretty well with the light blue lights that are on the Spyder from the factory, like around the hand controls & toggle switches, tho I believe BRP changed it to Orange on the new '12 RTs. Here in KY, our law states that you can't have FORWARD facing or BLINKING/FLASHING RED or BLUE lights, otherwise, ticket time. On one ryde, our AQUA Gloryders batteries were going dead, and one side would look like it was blinking & sure enough, a cop made a u-turn and pulled up next to us, but it had went out just in time. The cop said he thought he saw them blinking & that was a no-no, but now that he didn't see it blinking, we were fine & he went on his way. Better believe I changed those batteries as soon as we got home. Every state is a little different, so if you are travelling out of your home state, I'd pull up the lighting laws for the states you are travelling in. I suppose thats another benifit of having the Gloryders with the remote control, if its an issue, not a big deal to just turn them off.
Bob, we haven't tried Lithium, last I recall, thats what they had my ex-wife on when she went back into the psych-ward for the 3rd time, didn't seem to help her, so maybe its better for batteries:dontknow:
 
We have the Smoked Chrome wheels on Teds Red Sled & they work well on them

And I know another local switched to the bright chrome wheels & WOW, their like shining stars at night. But with a matt or flat black, they would obviously still work and illimuminate the ground around the wheels/tires for about 2 feet, but I doubt you'd get much illumination off the rims themselves tho. Maybe someone that has black rims & gloryders can chime in & help "Illuminate" all of us ;)
 
I just got mine a hour ago..Just need to find someone to put them on for me..I cannot figure it out myself.. I ordered pink,,not sure what colour i received...

Hi Sue,
The first thing to do is read the instructions about 6 times, look at the box of parts, and then read them again... :shocked: Do you have the tools that they say you will need? (If not; that's a GOOD thing because you can't start the job and monkey it all up... :thumbup:)
If you are unfortunate enough to have the tools; go find what you need, pull the parts out of the box, lay them all out into some semblance of order...
Do the same for the tools that you've scraped together...

That's how I start any chore that's more involved than opening a jar of peanut butter... Good Luck and please let us know how they look once you get them on the bike and lit up! :thumbup:

Sue if you want to see what colour you received just install 3 AA batteries and flip the small switch on the control board to "Show". Don't forget to turn the switch back to auto before you replace the cover (2 set screws attach the cap to the circuit board housing) or your lights will never turn off. :D It is probably a good idea to test out the units before mounting them to your wheels, both show and auto. You can activate the "auto" feature on the lights by shielding light from the sensor and moving the unit slightly. The lights will turn off in about a minute when exposed to light again.

A great mod and it sure makes the Spyder stand out at night.
