• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Throttle Body Update

Got my throttle body update today, and for some reason now my analog gas guage doesn't show any gas in my tank. Plus had to reset the clock. Took it straight back to the dealer and he's puzzled. Said he has to contact brp and he'll get back with me. Has this happened to anybody else out there?:yikes:

fonz, it sounds like the dealer does not have the latest version of the update which came out April 13. He needs to update his software. Its been discussed on here by a few different people.

update should have nothing to do with analog now the digital one on the main screen yes but not analog ..could be gas gauge went bad just unplug both gas and temp and they will appear on the main screen.

They are already unplugged, it's the one on the main screen thats not showing my gas levels. ( How crazy is that ? ). Now they replugged the digital guage back in, that really didn't work in the beginning. Help !!!!

Sigh! The dealer not only did not use the latest version of BUDS to do the update, but ignored the reminder when he started the update program that told him to use the latest BUDS version (BUDS R3.3.2). Go back and tell him to do his homework. He will have to remove the new update, download the new BUDS version, and then do the update again. Have him call BRP if he doesn't understand.

Friendly advice for dealers (if you want to stay in bussiness):
1. Check daily and download from BossWeb the bulletins, campaigns and updates for RS/RT Spyders and B.U.D.S.
2. Inform and discussed with BRP about new and repeated Spyder issues and follow-up
3. Send mechanics to BRP classes
3. Read forums and social networks

:agree::agree:.. if all dealers were like cowtown usa in cuba,mo we would all be happy spyder lovers just knowing that the guy in the shop knows what the problems are and how to fix it right. brp should make it a policy that before a dealership can sell there machines they need to send at least 1 qualified mechanic to there school at lease 2 twice yr.

Taking my friend to Baltimore,Md to test ride a RT LTD, that shop won't do my TB update, stating that it's a warranty issue. I don't understand that answer. I thought an update is done by BUDS and thats it. Explained that there's a chance my friend will purchase an RT, and you won't do my update. Question is? Aren't all dealers responsible to do updates whether you purchased your vehicle there or not

If your TB is bad, it's BAD. It is not the dealer's decision whether or not to change it. BRP has changed countless numbers of TBs (mine included, and I have a 2010). All the dealer has to do is verify the P1614 code, call BRP and get authorization and BRP will ship them a TB and you will be made whole. What's the problem with your dealer in understanding this simple procedure?

Regardless, if they don't do "warranty service" then your friend has a big bargaining chip for them to lower the price since he'll have to take his ride elsewhere for service.

fonz, if your dealership refuses to hook up buds and give you the correct software update then i would report them to brp a.s.a.p. its there job as a can-am spyder dealership to make sure that brp products are delivered no matter if they bought it from them or not!!! end of story.
