• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Saw a bike in a stupid accident today (no Spyder content)

I was headed to work in my cage, stopped at a red light in the middle lane of a 3 lane road (3 lanes each direction) when I saw a squid go past on my left side headed through the intersection on what was a very red light by that time.
He never braked or swerved and piled at about 25 mph into the driver's side front corner of a small pickup truck making a left. The plastic on the bike shattered everywhere and the rider went over the bars and the truck.
He got up right away but was dragging one foot and looked like he had an ankle injury as he made it to the side of the road. He had a full face helmet and gloves but street clothes and runners otherwise.
Can't imagine why he ran the light, but maybe he didn't see the truck making the left turn and thought he'd get away with it.
I called it in to 911 but traffic was heavy so I moved on when the light changed. I hope he's OK, and glad that he lived to try again.

Ride safe,
Rod.

This is a 'Squid'.

In reference to the bike, or a guy with a football capped helmet and thongs?

BMW's are definitely not 'Squids'.

Squid is a derogotory reference to the rider who is either very new, doing stupid and dangerous things on a motorcycle, or improperly dressed (or a combination of these). Basically a danger to himself and others.

I learn something new everyday. :roflblack:
