There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. I'll get my HWY footboards right yet...

Okay everyone, here is my dilemma. I know many of you have had this same problem. Lamonster had this great idea for highway pegs. Billet bike parts answered the need with brackets for attaching the pegs. That was all fine and dandy if you had long legs. But I only have about a 30-31 inch inseam. I found that it was too far of a stretch downward and too wide, it actually hurt. So my wonderful husband made these brackets to attach to the billet bike part brackets and he even gave me his Switchblade footpegs. Here are a couple of pics.

So what is the problem you might ask. Well, after a 4 day ride and 1300 miles, this just isn't quite right either. I really want my floor boards and I find that where I was putting my feet was actually farther forward and higher, almost sitting on the bracket itself instead of the pegs. So we went back to the straight extensions but I didn't need them as high as they were originally made to elevate my foot. So my wonderful husband drilled a new hole in the brackets. I also was trying to figure out how to get the board closer to the bike. With the Clevis on, it put the board two inches further outward on each side which had me going back to that wide stretch. So here is what we did.

There are 4 inches from the hole that matches up to the billet bike part bracket to the hole that holds the floorboard. I got rid of the clevis and mounted the board directly to the bracket as in the pic below. It is amazing how much more comfortable this is. One other thing about not having the clevis in there and being so much closer to the bike and the original bracket that I noticed. There isn't nearly as much flex. The floorboards feel much more stable being right up close to the bike.

Here are a few more shots at different angles. I will know more after my two hour ride north on Friday and I give this a true test. I will keep you posted. Also, after my NoMagicNeon risers get here, I am sure it will be even better.

Deb, I''m glad to see your ideas. I also need highway pegs. My inseam is 26" so I need to mount it somehow inside the black panel, not outside it like you have it. Jim is working on how to do that.

In the "other forum" a user named araneae has attached a bracket to the rear nuts-bolts that mount the engine to the frame. Looks like from there a L or modified U shaped bracket could be fabbed to provide a mount point
inside the tupperware.

Laughingheart, you could use exactly what I have and angle the extension toward the back of the bike instead of toward the front of the bike and that would bring them 4"-6" closer to you depending on how far you went. What I didn't like about having the pegs down in front of the black panel is I still wasn't getting the cruiser feel. I like to be able to sit back and put my legs out forward. I just needed a spot high enough and close enough to do that. Having the pegs just inside the black panel is nice for a change of position but it did not accomplish what I was trying to accomplish. The way I am set up now, I could move the footboards further away or closer to myself and also higher or lower. Did you say you were going to Gatlinburg? I could let you try them out down there. Also, where are you located? For some reason Ohio comes to mind. We might even be able to set up a ride meet just so you can try these out.

Deb, they look great and you look like you are very comfortable and relaxed in that seating position.
