• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

what is your ceiling? A cop I work with had a issue with the taurus 1911 but they fixed it, it did have the best options for the price and I have had great luck with CCing their revolvers. I would say that the quality of other semi autos have eclipsed the 1911, especially kimbers, 10 years ago I would say buy a kimber but they tried to spread out into too many areas that weakened the quality of their 1911 I would shoot some other mid grade semi autos but it really does depend on what you want to spend.

I work with cops that would punch you in the head for saying something like this, and they are good cops. Imagine what a bad one would do you if you gave away your rights like this, just because someone is a cop does NOT mean they are a good person and looking out for you interests, the public interests or anything other than their own personal gain, its all in who writes the reports. I understand that people would be better off helping LE more but there is a huge difference between helping out and giving them absolute power which corrupts absolutely and I work in this environment, I have seen very few people that does not let the job negatively effect them (you dance with the devil, the devil don't change).

But I do believe its your choice to allow anyone you want in your house, I pray it does not bite you in the ass someday legally friend.

That's an interesting viewpoint Seth... Thanks!
I've kind of tried to live my life by one VERY simple rule; "If you don't give them a reason to make you miserable, the LEOs will more than likely leave you alone."
The only 2 times that I've been stopped by the Police, I absolutely WAS speeding*; admitted it to them, was apologetic and polite as as I could possibly be, gave my reason for acting so foolishly... They ran my license, saw that I had nothing there and they let me go with a warning. Everybody was polite and they were professional and precise in their descriptions of what happened... Actually I count them as positive experiences because it gave me a better respect for the laws...

*17 over and 33 over... :yikes:

Here's an interesting .45 (not a 1911) that weighs 19.7 oz, nice for easy carry, shoots surprisingly well, less than $370 !

KAHR Arms compact CW45

I like the looks of the Ruger 1911 but personally have never liked shooting a 1911. Now, on the other hand, my Ruger KP345 is AWESOME.

Everybody has their own likes and dislikes...
My Missus had a Glock 19 (9mm) and it was scary how well she shot it...
It just didn't fit my paw as well, and I could probably do more damage by throwing slugs downrange! :gaah:
You 've got to look around and see what fits and works best for you.
Besides; More than half the fun is in the shopping! :2thumbs:
