I decided to do a test piece of the bed lining on the Spyder. I thought my cowl was a good place to start. I will take you step by step through the process and tell you about the problems that I found and how to avoid them. I am also going to give you names of products that I used but I am in no way saying these are the best products to use.
FYI:
Step One – Clean your surface with Dawn detergent and dry well.
Step Two – Use 400 grit sandpaper to lightly rough up the surface of your panel.
Step Three – Clean with wax and grease remover.
Step Four – Using Dupli-Color Adhesion Promoter, lightly spray the entire surface of your panel. You will now wait 5 to 10 minutes for the adhesive to dry.
Step Five - You are now going to apply a light coat of Dupli-Color Truck Bed Coating. Wait 5 to 10 minutes for it a fully dry.
Step Six - Apply two more coats waitings 5 to 10 minutes between each coat.
You are now done and you have a bed lined Spyder. I will post additional pictures of the Spyder when she is completely done. Right now I am trying to figure out how to take the other panels off.
This is how the cowl looks back together and on the Spyder.

FYI:
- Make sure you really want to take this step, there is no going back.
- Make sure that your surface is clean and free of grease.
- When you start spraying, start off the panel and then move your way onto it in a steady motion to avoid bubbles.
- Work in a well ventilated space.
- Make sure if tape the reflectors that you use a razor to seperate the bed liner from the tape.
- Don't stick your finger in the wet bed liner! VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Don't start this project outside if there is rain in the forecast!
- Put all bolts and small parts in a zip lock for safe keeping.
- DO NOT USE LINE-X, it is too heavy and will not look right! Use Dupli-Color or Duraliner (which comes in different colors).
