• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyders left their mark on the Cuba Free Press newspaper

Since I am a townie in Cuba, I thought that I would post a masthead of the weekly Cuba Free Press newspaper this week. In the upper left you will see a spyder. I want to thank all the great spyder folks for coming to our town and sharing your love for your machines and interacting with our businesses and citizens. Your support the Cuba Backpacks for Kids program was outstanding. You were truly a joy to have visit, and we look forward to your return.

I will be working with the community to put out an even greater welcome in 2013. I think maybe we need to have Len invite Cuba's PD out for demo drives and some better communication.

Again, travel safely and for those who are close enough, visit us during the year. You are all now part of our Cuba family. Our chamber's website is www.cubamochamber.com, and you can find a list of annual events on the first page. The Viva Cuba mural blog and website is www.cubamomurals.com.

If you have requests that you would pass along to the community, please relay them to me. We are small, but we like big ideas and will do our best.

A big thanks to Cuba and all its citizens who go out of their way to make all of us spyder ryders feel welcome. Yes Cuba is a small town but that's part of what makes it so neat. If this were held in Los Angeles for instance I don't think the ambiance would be the same.Looking forward to 2013.

Everywhere you looked, surrounding towns included, local businesses had signs welcoming spyders. Even with the rainy weather there were still a lot of people watching the parade. Most would not want 525 spyders invading their town, but Cuba embraces it like its a national holiday.

A big thumbs up to the people of Cuba:thumbup:

Spyderfest a national holiday?

We thought it was a national holiday. LOL. We will have to work on that.

Spyder wash

The jc's or rotary club could learn how to wash spyders and have a charitable "spyder wash". I would have loved to have someone give the bike a bath after all that ryding.

It IS a national holiday for Cuba!!! All the locals I talked to said they really liked having all the Spyders there.

Can't agree more that Cuba rolled out the welcome mat again this year. It just keeps getting better and better and bigger and bigger!:gaah:

I would second that motion. It would be a great fund-raiser for the group that took on the job.

The only way Cuba could do more, is to build additional motels, someone might wanna look into that ;)

I will pass that idea along. It might be something that the Volunteer Fire Department could do. Of course, if there was a fire... LOL. There would be a trail of 1/2 washed spyders trailing the fire trucks to the fire. I can see it now.

Maybe bring in cheerleaders from the St. Louis Rams to wash the bikes...... :):p:doorag:

All the businesses in Cuba were just great... they really welcome us with open arms. Really like the M66 shop where they let you taste the various items for sale..... yummmmmmy

That is a good plan... I mean, we gotta be more fun than another losing Rams game.
