• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. And I Gave Up A Perfectly Good Goldwing for This

There are days I feel much the same way,as in "I gave up my 'Wing for this?" But, when all is well and I reflect on no longer having to balance 1100lbs of bike and people the pain is lessened.

If I were to get an ABS fault, the first thing that I would do is check the brake fluid level.

Last week my ABS light came on and it went into limp mode when I braked for a stop. I stopped, took the key out and cleared it. It did the same thing again. I noticed that I could use the brake slightly, just enought to slow down with no problems, but when I applied it hard enought to stop the ABS and limp mode happened. I called my dealer and the mechanic said it was most likely the master cylinder. He asked if the brake pedal went down further than usual and it seems to. I asked him about checking the brake fluid and he said if it shouldn't be low (2011 LTD 4,000 mi) and if it was it had to go some where. I got home ok by limiting brake use. They have it now, and I hope to get it back this week.

Better Replacement Battery

If battery quality is suspect and you need to replace the battery I would consider a unit from this source. All their batteries give higher amp Hr output for the same size profile.

I'm sure the master cylinder was low, causing your alarm, but your dealer is right...there has to be a reason. Sounds like a good dealer, that knows his stuff and wants to go the extra mile to make things right.

So true about a good mechanic

I have the best mechanic in Canada, if not Nort America. Scott at Snow City is the place you want to go. I had a '08 GS and he kept it in tip top order, even through warranty and recall issues. I made sure the new RT-S would be set up by the "pro".poking forward to the snow melting and rYding really soon

You're right Scotty, I'm one of the lucky ones that has been blessed with a very good dealer. Kenny and Vic in the service dept have always stepped up and given me very good service on my spyders. By the way the dealership is Lynchburg Kawasaki in Lynchburg, Va.

I am really sorry to hear about the problems you are having - sounds like you are ready to go back to 2 wheels ...

I am surprised about your problems with the dealer. They are the same ones I use and have had no problems at all with them. Colin is a factory trained technician and I have watched him work. Seems to know his stuff. We have talked about various issues that have been identified on this board and he seemed up to date on everything.

Have you addressed your problems with the manager or with Carlo at BRP.

Good luck! I hope everything works out for you.

My problem is not with Colon or the dealer, it's with the RT itself. I am tired of worrying about if it will start (afraid to turn the key and press the start button). Will I have a problem on the ride? Will I make it back home safely? I can't enjoy the ride with this on my mind constantly. It has let me down to many times. I have lost confidence in the RT. The headache of having to take it to the shop has become to much. As a matter of fact, they are coming this morning to pick it up. ABS Fault light and won't start.:banghead:

take the key out and let it set for 5 to 10 mins and it will reset the competer,so you can start it .thats if the battery is good .it cant reset with the key in.try it you might like it.
