• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Got my Spyder back from the 6K service tonight...

Good news:
-- Dropped it off at my dealer (Coleman Falls Church) on Saturday, bike was ready on Wednesday (couldn't pick it up until tonight, alas). After three routine service appointments, each one was done in less than four working days. While I wish they had appointments, for drop-off service I'm pleased with that so far.
-- They did the 6K service, at my request they did NOT do the valve check, at my request they also swapped out the Honda Goldwing exhaust gaskets (that I provided) for the BRP exhaust gaskets, and they did the state inspection.
-- Again, all the service was with a smile, I've been happy with their service department to date

Bad news:
-- Price is still nuts ... $617 for all of the above (the 6K service, inspection, and one hour labor charged for the gasket swap). Bike labor ain't cheap anywhere around here so I don't find the price unfair, but I do know it makes me long for the rates a lot of you guys and gals out in the, ummm... hinterlands manage to get from your dealers.

Anyway, I know that over the past few weeks there's been quite a bit of (deserved) bashing here of Coleman (particularly their Woodbridge location). I can't defend their behavior with any other owner, but they've had my bike four times now (3 routine services, 1 repair service when I botched my riser install and needed a new clutch housing), and each time they've done the service in reasonable time and for the expected price. Maybe there's going to come a time when I *really* have a bizarre Spyder problem-- and THEN my nightmare begins-- but for now, they're 4 for 4 with me, and I'm happy to go with that.

That all said... the 9K service? Yeah, I'm totally changing my own oil then. ;)

Oh, the best news of all? I'm now ready for my big spring trip to Chicagoland in less than three weeks! (Wish it was Spyderfest, oh well... next year!!)

In case you need a little more incentive I use the same dealer as Riker,20,000 mile service dropped off Monday afternoon was ready Wed.Oil
change, new brakes all around and inspection $404.I thought that was a little high but you gotta pay to play!

You live in an area that pays over $2000 for a toilet seat. You got out of it cheap.

The toilet seat was $640... but for the record, that coffee pot *was* worth $7600!

There's actually a great story behind that... the coffee pot was designed to remain pressurized in the event the C-5 aircraft explosively decompressed. So, there's a chance you might be killed, but at least you won't add scalding hot coffee to your injuries!

(The toilet seat... yeah, got nuthin' on that, that was a clear ripoff ):ohyea:

If you believe some Hollywood screen writers are ahead of the curve, There is a scene in the Film,
Indepence Day that explains why the seat cost so much and what the money is really for.

Shhhhh... we're not supposed to talk about that :joke:

Wow! That is amazing, I wish Coleman's Woodbridge could be that efficiently! Congrats on getting your Spyder back. Enjoy a nice long ryde!
