• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone use this in a spyder? It's being used in my hot rod club and I was considering it in my GS.

Oops titled it wrong... Sorry. NPG

I know nothing of the product...good, bad, or otherwaise, but one word of caution. This product would not meet BRP specs, which call for 50:50 mix of aluminum safe ethylene glycol coolant and distilled water.

I was interested in this stuff too. Still doing research but it seems to be a good choice. The Evans website has a warranty guarantee that if your manufacturer denies a warranty claim based on using this product, Evans will pay for the denied repairs.

Besides, how in the world would they know? I'm not too worried about the warranty issues but still evaluating the functionality.

Anybody have an opinion vs. Water Wetter vs. Engine Ice?

edit: Never mind, this stuff is not the miracle coolant I thought it was. It's primary purpose is to allow you to run hotter, it will cool past normal heat loads that would boil normal coolant. But the price you pay is that it is actually less thermally efficient than the options. So now it is time to research Water Wetter vs. Engine Ice.

Do you know if BRP would let you use Water Wetter by Redline with there 50:50 mix?

Using Water Wetter with a 50/50 mix is pretty much a waste of time. You get so little improvement it's not worth the effort. I had the temp difference chart for what mix works best but I don't know where it went. I'm sure it's still out there somewhere.

Water Wetter with a 100% water mix is the best. Water has better thermal release/transfer rate properties than 50/50 coolant. So the addition of Water Wetter to 100% water gives you the best heat removal option. Very nice numbers!

However, like everything else, there is a down side. I could list all the negatives to the 100% water + Water Wetter here but the bottom line is, you don't want to go this route.

I went with a 30% anti-freeze, 70% water and the correct amount of Water Wetter (which I think was about 4 oz for our system). Gave me a good amount of cooling improvement with very little of the downside effects.

But if you're storing your Spyder in VERY COLD environments you may not want to leave the 50/50 mix that BRP calls for.

I used the water wetter with the 50 50 mix and saw some improvement but nothing to write about. One bar on my RS at the most. Could actually be wishfully thinking and the bike getting more broke in. Luckily it does not cost much as a bottle will last the lifetime of a Spyder at 4 oz an application. I guess it's one of those it can't hurt and may help. Kind of things.
