• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Need help with Left Hand Throttle....

I have a buddy who wants to purchase a RSS SE5 Spyder, however he does not have his right hand. I have two questions:
1st of all, what year did they change the throttle from a cable to electronic?
2nd...is it possible to move the throttle to the left side, and can it be done with an electronic throttle?

He has been searching for info on how to do this, as well as where to purchase the necessary parts/kit to do this.

I told him to go to Spyderlovers for assistance.....So I thought I would put out a post to see if any fellow members could give me some suggestions for him.

Thanks!

Mike

You can install a left foot throttle. My friend Boots had her GS modified by a company that does cars and vans for various handicaps. She is in Grand Rapids, MI but she doesn't get on this site very often. Send me a PM and I can contact her for you if you are interested in finding out more about her setup.

The electronic throttle is equipped on the RT, the cable throttle on the RS. It is not a matter of "What year?"

Thanks Scotty!

I thought that they had put the fly by wire on both the Rs and the Rt. This should make it easier to find a solution for him.

Thanks for the info.
