Want to hook up battery tender connector

I went through all the posts I could find, looked at the manual and not being the brightest mechanic around still can't figure out how to get to the battery. I purchased the battery tender junior and the connector that attaches directly to the battery and want to install it on the battery to be ready for when I depart for a few months.

That's what I use on mine! Works great!

I bought my adapter at northern tool for $5.00. Plug it up every time I come in. Use the the trunk power port.

To access the battery terminals to hook up a Tender pigtail, you need to remove the left side body panels. You do have other alternatives...either buy an adapter and plug in to the accessory outlet in the trunk (that's what I do), or use the alligator clips that came with your Tender and hook up to the jumper terminals under the seat.

I've got the Battery Tender Junior pigtails attached to my Spyder's battery. Once it's intalled, it is so easy to plug it in whenever I want. I don't have a power outlet on my Spyder. So, the tender pigtails is how I went. I'm not so mechanically inclined either. I had my deal install it.

Thanks for all the quick responses. I have the 12v plug adaptor but thought I read that wasn't the best method. Sure sounds like the way to go. Also read an old post you had to remove the left side body panels for battery access, thought it was a misprint, guess not.

Better to learn how to take off the proper panels and attach to the battery and run the connector under the seat.
Lift the seat-Plug in at end of day!
I,m saying the sooner you get Familiar with the panel removal the more maintenance you begin to do YOURSELF and SAVE lots of $$$?:yikes:

I assume the 12volt outlet is active with the key off. I'm at work and didn't try it.
