• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Official SpyderFest 2012 Updates Post!

Are they planning on adding the different rides ( Herman Wine Run, Ladies Ride) to the events section on www.spyderfest.com ? It would be nice to know the details in advance so you could plan your days before you go. Also maps or GPS coordinates would be great of the routes.

Thanks for all your hard work planning this event. Looking forward to our first Spyderfest!!

Oh yes we have different rides. The only ride that is still the same is the Herman Wine Run. The Ladies route is different and there are several more rides. Your packet when you check in will have all of the details and maps of all the rides. The rides are on Thursday and Friday.

Thank you and look forward to meeting you at Spyderfest.

Your packet when you check in will have all of the details and maps of all the rides. The rides are on Thursday and Friday. We don't normally give out the routes, etc. ahead of time. In order to get the information you have to be registered for Spyderfest. In addition to the routes there are at least 2 passport routes. Here is hoping you understand why we don't publish too much ahead of time:pray:

Thank you and look forward to meeting you at Spyderfest.

I understand about the routes/maps. It would be nice if all the choices for rides were on the events section of the site. Just for planning purposes. Right now the only ones I''ve seen or read about are the wine run and the ladies ride. Part of the fun for me is in the planning

WHOOOOOPPPPEEEEEE!!!!! 450 folks are comin to have fun and ryde our roads!!! can''t beat that with a stick!!!:2thumbs::clap::ohyea:

I stand corrected, we may well publish the routes as we get closer to Spyderfest. I know the other routes will start posting information as time goes by. We purposely do not start posting all of them at once. Just our way of teasing people and keeping them reading about the best Spyder gathering in the U.S. bar none.:2thumbs:

I suppose we have had a little confusion, as Spyderlady said we are releasing the rides at different times to allow each Ride Captain his/her time on the podium (so to speak). It will be up to each Ride Captain as to if they release their exact route or not. I and most of the leaders I think, plan on releasing the route on Spyderlovers, my feelings is the more you know about the ride the better chance we won't lose you. These rides are not a secret as a matter of fact most of them are rides we have enjoyed before, either with Spyders or other bikes. The Hermann run is pretty much the same as last year and one other ride that has not been released yet will be similar to last year. Of course the passport runs should be given out upon sign-up because that is part of the adventure/fun/challenge..

I'm not sure it is as important to release the exact routes up front as to list the type of ride, attractions/stops, and the approximate mileage...as well as the time and duration. Most of us try to juggle the rides we select ahead of time, mixing them with our other objectives.

No way Lee, we are the most organized and well oiled machine anyone could imagine....:shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked:

I guess it is true what they say then...

2012 is the end of the world. The Mayan Calendar ends and there is some confusion within MoGang. Oh, the humanity!

Amen to the pre-planning. This will be my first SpyderFest so I don't know what the rides were in the past. I'm sure I'm not the only one?

I'd like some pre-planning because I don't want my Spyder getting something installed while I'm missing out on some fun.

Will we be able to get our packets on Tuesday, as that's the day I'm planning to arrive at the Lady Bug Campground.

This will be our first Spyderfest, and our longest run. We live in SouCal. I don't know anything about Cuba. Not sure how many bykes and people to expect. Are fueling station readily available or are they going to be pretty crowded because of us? Same thing applies to places to eat. I'm praying "y'all" have a safe trip, pleasant weather, and no tornados. We will be driving through Joplin on are way there. No town should experience what those poor people went through last year. But God bless the American people's spirit and determination.

It will be good to see you again. I always appreciated the hospitality you guys showed us in Barstow as well as the escort to the pier on our Route 66 trip. I wouldn't worry too much about gasing up or eating in Cuba. There is a big truck stop there and quite a few stations. Several restaurants and fast food places as well. The only place I remember waiting was at Missouri Hicks BBQ and it was too long.

Watching the Food Network Channel I've learned the Midwest takes particular pride in their BBQ's. Looking forward to that, and to seeing you again my friend.

I believe what he was asking was for you to at least put the start times and maybe duration of the routes on the schedule so that we can pick and plan what rides we could go on.

I will only speak for the Hermann ryde (Missouri River Wine Country). We will leave to 10:00 AM on Friday morning (full tank of fuel) and head out. It will be about a 1 1/2 hour ryde to Hermann, time for the winery tour, lunch, and "look around" then back on the :ani29:'s (full tank of fuel) and back to Cuba via a different route. In total it will be approximately 5 1/2 to 6 hr. day. You will be back in time for the Friday Night Lights which no one will want to be late. A great night is in the planning.:2thumbs::yes:

The other ryde captains can give you their time line as they post their rydes.;)

Just a heads up for those who might be interested?
Onondaga Cave State Park is holding a special Bat Festival April 20-21. There will bat lectures (with live specimens) as well as abbreviated tours for the general public on Saturday April 21. (I am told that these special tours may be free) :D:D

I had inquired about the caves in the Mark Twain Forest. I am told they are all closed due to WNS :( and that the Onondaga Cave is the best commercial cave in the state. All caves are closed due to WNS unless you have affiliations with CRF which serves as "gatekeeper" to all caves on government property in MO.
Our caves are still open here in GA. We have the deepest caves down here in TAG. (TN AL GA). :D

Kevin and I are looking forward to being part of the Hermann Wine Run with the Jim, Linda & Joe as ryde captains. Hermann has such charm. All that go on this ride will really enjoy the day.

If you like the sweeter wines I can give you a couple of excellent choices!!

Thanks for clarifyng what I meant. That was it exactly. I see they have posted information now about the rides in the events section.

Thank you to all for the information.
