• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. GLORYDER LIGHTS

I was going to mention that Phil had a custom design cut into his caps, but he beat me to it. I needed a few special options for our sets and Will worked with me on price since what I wanted wasn't listed as an option on their website. Another one of the 'Greats' in the growing customer service list for Spyder owners that want after market items. A BIG  for the GloRyder folks!!!

Anyway; I was going to ask about the custom covers... Do we email them to see what else is available, or can we give them an idea of what we want? I'm just not keen on arachnids... :opps:

I really want purple Glo Lights, but I don't think they are legal in Virginia. Since I pass a police check point every morning on my way to work, I don't want to push the rules. But I think they look awesome and I have only read good things about them.

Double check on that. It's legal in most states. Some might have an issue with the red ones. Take into consideration that most police officers aren't even familiar with Spyders. I think that they assume anything they see on one comes stock from the factory and is therefore A-OK. That's what I've heard, so take that with a grain of salt. I have red, green and purple. My purple ones are shown in the above post. They aren't bright enough to confuse ppl or distract them. They are a real nice touch :firstplace:

OK, I will look into it. I would really love them. I have purple LEDs on my back license plate that are in sync with my parking lights, I think the front lights would be nice.

Bob, they have a couple of designs on site. If you want something different call and ask for Will. He'll probably answer anyway. Phil could probably answer this better than I can, but I'm assuming that you can send him the design you want and he'll enter it into the CNC machine and cut it for you for a nominal charge. Let me know how that goes. We might be interested in doing that down the road for MOGANG or Special ones for future SpyderFests.

If you pass a check point every morning, why not ask one of the officers there if purple is okay?

Honestly, because that never occurred to me. I HOV so I have to go through the check point to get off. They look for HOV violations and equipment violations.

GloRyders, stopped by a Cop

I have the GloRyders on my RT and really enjoy them. Certainly a great "attention magnet" in the evening!!!

The first day I had my GR on I was stopped by a local Sherrif deputy and warned me about the laws(red & blue emergency colors). He told me that the ticket would be about $90. I had the "aqua" color and explained that to the deputy. He gave me a warning. I called the folks at GR and they immediately replaced the circuit boards with the "white" and they are really super.....I'm glad that I now have the white, they really "stand-out" in the dark.

I love my wolf paws....

:agree::agree::agree: Got them on both ours!!

Has anyone heard if Gloryder will be coming out with a remote on and off for the gloryder lights? I saw that was the popular vote on their survey.

If I recall, they were testing the remote idea but they found out that the remote sensor on the light circuit drains the battery so they scrapped the remote idea.

I have 2 sets of Glo-Riders, they rock! I had dropped a circuit board not long ago and had a replacement sent, they sell only in pairs for $39, I thought this was fair. Once mounted you can't get a lug wrench on the wheel nuts without removing the cover and housing. As far as the batteries go I recommend lithium ones, why full around.

GloRyders are great, and a pretty easy install. Reggy at TricLED can hook you up with a Halo kit that will light up your rear wheel as well. I'm attaching a pic showing my 3 wheels lit up, fronts with the GloRyders and rear with the Halo. Oh--and I picked white to avoid any issues with local law enforcement.

I have the white GloRyders on the front wheels of my RT Limited which looks great but I really like your rear wheel lights. I couldn't find the Halo lights on the GloRyder web site. Do you know if they offer this for a RT?

I'm going to through a kink into this one.

I had the GLORYDERS and IMHO they never threw out enough light for me. Maybe it was the color as I had purple, and they do look good, but just not bright enough. In Florida you can't run red or blue as both are used for emergency vehicles. I have a friend that was runnning blue on his Goldwing and was pulled over by the Highway Patrol. The troper asked him if he knew why he was being pulled over and he said he figured that he wanted to see how nice the lights looked in his bike. The trooper just laughed and told him to just turn them off and gave him a warning after he showed him all the lights he had. Depending on the officer he can make you park the vehicle and remove the lights before you drive the vehicle again. Good luck.

The halo kit is from TricLED.com (another great company) not gloryder.

Here's my gloryders in action along with my halo kit and everything else.

I have purple all over the bike. With a black bike, it has a mysterious look to it. I've never been questioned here in Texas.Maybe it's like was said- cops might think it's stock and don't give it a second thought.

On the custom cuts... yes, a high res image plus some setup $$ and then work out the per set price. They are REALLY great to work with.

MARK LAWSON- do you have any pics of the Spyder Ichthus ones we have that you can post? (traveling and I don't have access to all my pics)

Honestly, don't waste your time asking a single cop...he/she might not ticket you, but the next person might...unlikely they know the state laws without checking themselves. I'm in MD and they're in the 'gray' area...they don't shine light out, but they are technically spinners...

I use them anyway...for the extra visibility, I'll make my case to the police, if need be. I'd rather be seen and safe, than someone not see me and hit me. The gloryders really help with side visibility.

Check your state laws...you should be able to find them online pretty easily...
