Minor issue from day one... your suggestions..

I basically see this everytime I run my Spyder...

With it completely warmed up. If I go to an intersection and hit the throttle as if to get in traffic fast, the bike will bog down and all most conk out ( I do see a dash error flicker ), but then I just let off the throttle a hair and it catches itself then almost jumps forward. All other acceleration performance seems fine...at speed.

I mentioned it when I first took it to the dealer, but he said he didn't see anything. Knowing I can do it almost everytime, I am going to re-address this. It feels like it is choking with to much gas.

Anyone else experienced similar? If so, what was the resolution?

Will be going for my 6k check-up first week in April....will address, would like suggestons on what I should tell them

Is the back tire loosing contact with the road? Could be the nanny kicking in.

My guess is Miss nanny, too. Too much throttle and a hard turn will do it, as will breaking the tire loose and getting a bit sideways. If that's not it. you could have a bad plug wire or a fouled plug.

What is flickering on the dash ??? What symbol ??? If you can identify the symbol in your manual, it will tell you if it is the nanny or not. :thumbup:

I think that it might be Nanny if he's got the bars turned while grabbing the handful of loud lever... I don't think she comes out to annoy us if we're doing burnouts straight ahead... :dontknow:

Simple solution...don't do what causes this to happen! What's so important that you have to throttle out in a turn, then complain if the nanny wants to protect you?.

Thanks, but to clarify, I was not complaining. I was trying to identify an issue, or what I thought was an issue. Not every question I ask is a complaint of my baby. I LUV her hyea:.... It was a simple question

An SE can do a burnout under some conditions...but that extreme isn't necessary to trigger the VSS. Slight loss of traction combined with a strong steering angle will do it. So will the Spyder sensing severe yaw (as the Spyder accelerates quickly from a dead start around a corner). You'll get the feel of what the Spyder will tolerate soon enough. Try getting around the corner and straightening the handlebars some before you hit full throttle. It is a matter of smoothness and subtle control. Play with it in an empty parking lot to get the feel of it.

I have had my 2011 RSS do the same thing to me. I was coming down a hill and the road had a high crown in the middel of the road. I turned to the left and went over the crown at a 45 degree angle and made me go from a right yaw and pich up to a left yaw and pitch down and I was unable to give it throttle or steer. It happend to me a the same place above a month later. I think it's the VSS kicking in.

I agree it is the VSS kicking in,same thing happens to me when you give it throttle on tight turn especially from stop.It's all good!

Try to accellerate with the bars turned over and the nanny kicks in.

I also agree, it can be quite disconcerting when it happens at an intersection and you don't expect it.
You think you're going to stop in the middle of the road and get hit by a truck !
Good thing I keep spare underwear in the trunk.

I worked with this today and now understand better what I was doing or should I say, how I was affecting the "nanny".

I first tried my normal, hit the corner and go...same result ...LOL

So then I got the bars straightened out before hitting the throttle and no issues.

I was riding in the rain less than a week after I got my RT and was trying to decide whether to put the right front or rear tire in the right hand track on the road caused by 4 wheeled traffic and which had the most standing water. When I got the rear in the track, the RT started cutting out and stumbling pretty badly and I was thinking, "doggone, a brand new bike and I'm gonna have to walk home in the rain." When I eased the rear tire out of the track, everything smoothed out but if I put the rear back in the track and it started all over. It finally occurred to me that that big, wide rear tire was hydroplaning and spinning at 60 - 65 MPH and the traction control was "saving my butt".
