I've mention this tool before and how cool I thought it was but last night I got to put it to the test and I'm so excited about how it helped diagnose my problem that I decided to shoot a little video showing why it so cool. :doorag:

I'm testing a prototype strobe unit for the brake lights and everything worked as it should on one side but it was causing the other side to go nuts. While I was trouble shooting the problem I found another problem I didn't know I had and thought for sure when I fixed it that would fix my brake light problem. Unfortunately it didn't fix my issue but at least now my other unknown issue is fixed.
I called up the guy who built this unit and we start step by step trying to figure out what was going on. There was no good reason why it shouldn't work right and why it was making everything else go crazy. As you know the Spyder is not happy with some aftermarket lighting products but even taking the strobe out of the system and just having the jumper in place I had a problem. It was time to break out the Power Probe 3.
On the RT you have a always hot cigarette plug inside the rear trunk. I used this to power up the Power Probe 3. This gives me a good ground and good power for testing. I was able to probe my brake light to make sure it was getting power and I was able to test for good ground as you'll see in the video. I'm sure there are other ways to do a test like this but I can't think of a better tool to do it with. Watch the video and you'll see what I'm talking about. :doorag:
