• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My Ranking is off. Because for me its like this.

Owners Event (has nothing to do with the event, but everything to do with the drive there and back)
Spyderfest (Again a distance and chance to see stuff)
Lamonts BBQ (Its just in my backyard)

Now if it was the events in relation to the vehicle themselves and not the ride there and back:
Lamonts BBQ (Im with Randy on the tearing my machine apart and learning more, my engineering nature has me already doing this)
Spyderfest (More oddities to mess with and information to consume)
Owners event (I know next to nothing about this at the present time)

Now if its the party that is happening while I am there:
Spyderfest: Im staying there, drunk will happen
Lamonts BBQ: Im affording this by most likely driving to and from per day (2 hours? that is like 15 bucks a day)
Owners Event: I have no information on this event, and usually dealer events arent crazy fun cause of legal beagels.

SO its all about HOW you phrase the question.

Did not know there were polls in fantasy world, if so I would choose a different lineup.:roflblack::roflblack:

I need multiple choice!!

1. Spyderfest (Never been to one)

2. Lamonster's BBQ (Never been to one)

3. Nah...Not going to any other events....But we need to have at least 2 choices

Hopefully I'll be up and running by the time Lamont's BBQ rolls around. I also hope I have a ride by that time. I'm not sure which is gonna come first. The ride or my body.

Chris

Each Spyder Meet has its own flavor...

One is BBQ and grease...

One is bonfire and pancake...

And one is mountain road and crisp air.

They all have good times and camaraderie.

Like a good Mamma, not going to let on who my favorite is...

But I did vote.

AWESOME EVENTS

Since i'm going to all five it's really hard to choose, but I think the BBQ is going to rock the house so I pick that as my choice for favorite at this moment ask me tommorrow...?????.....Mike.....:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

There are only three kinds of people. Those that can count and those that cant. All two of them.:ani29:

I see Spyderfest getting a lot of love here (and from what I hear it's well deserved!)...but I wonder if BRP would take some cues from the popular items that I keep seeing pop up? The two biggest things I see are:
1. Vendors. It's great to have vendors on site that can sell you what you want and even install/help install it.
2. Self-help: How awesome would it be to have BRP/Can-Am reps on site offering classes on different subjects--from oil changes to shock adjustments.

I think that anyone considering an agenda for the event should certainly consider incorporating these two themes. They could really enhance the event.

Best,

Great idea.

While vendors are great, any venue can have them. Rides are great but again, any venue can have those too. What can BRP offer that no other event can? Themselves!

What about a quick rundown on the future vision for the Spyder. I know BRP can't spill the beans but surely there are some ideas or direction they could discuss. How about a question and answer period. Dangerous, I suppose, but still great potential. And BRP seems to be a company willing to stick their neck out in ways that others like Honda and Harley are not.

There is just so much potential with a BRP event that has not yet been realized. In my opinion, their first event in Valcourt came closer than any other. From what I hear, Maggie Valley (short of the weather) came close again.

For me, the owner's event doen't have to be all bells and whistles. Interaction with the company on a realistic basis is what I'd like to see more of. And I think BRP has tried to do this, to an extent. BRP has some great personell with a wealth of knowledge. Riders like us that know their machines, not just from a book but from the saddle.

Sounds good to me!

How can you be so specific as to not allow multiple choice..... I vote 100 % for two of the events. The other is a close 2nd.

Nope, I r not gonna tell..

I know the event I'm waiting for..........SPRING.

Gonna be in the mid 50's next week...Time to get the spyder out of storage.

Ok OK....If I could make it, i would have to pick Lamonts BBQ...

Hey wish I could make it to Cowtown, if so I would be looking forward to it too.

They all look to me like a good excuse to ride so I love them all.. If there were NO spyder events I would ryde to some other biker events -- but nonetheless I WOULD RYDE ......

ficticious world of complete freedom

Ok, I love polls. They are a lot of fun, don't cost anything and they change all the time which makes it interesting.

This poll requires that you pretened that you can make all 3 of the listed events. And in this potentially ficticious world of complete freedom, I'm simply asking which event you would have the most anticipation for based on whatever criteria you have for getting excited about something.

Now Lamont's BBQ is listed here and I know we all love him very much. But you can't let this bias your vote or you will skew the numbers!

Votes are anonymous so your vote will not be made public,(except to the Administrator) though you are certainly welcome to give your reasons if you like.

I will pretend to answer this to the best of my ability.

Wikipedia says "Anticipation" or being enthusiastic, is an emotion involving pleasure, excitement, and sometimes anxiety in considering some expected or longed-for good event.

The Spyderfest event last year met all of this criteria and more. There was so much talk about the event on this forum. Heck there were cartoon movies with key players I had never met, just heard of depicted in complex story-lines. I had lots of anxiety not just because the journey one way was over 2K miles. But wanted to be best prepared for the trip and what better place to ask questions and find out about tips and tricks for the road than here. I bought two Reda gas cans, picked up some rain gear, and packed everything except the kitchen sink in my extra 22 cubic foot RT622. During the course of reaching Cuba Mo, I traveled from sunny southern California and visited my brother in Texas, ran out of gas twice(that's another story) before arriving Easter morning. When I departed on my way via Waco Texas I waded thru heavy rain and hail before encountering Tornadoes the evening I arrived in Little Rock Arkansas.

The next morning weather wise turned out pleasant although you could see the destruction and flooding caused from the previous day.

Upon arriving at Spyderfest early I had dinner with Spyderlovers at a Restraunt called Route 66 that I had never before met. This camaraderie was infectious. From that moment on I had made life long friends and acquaintances.

and guess what more was in store. The Cowtown gang had really put allot of thought and motivation into this gathering.

The weather was not as cooperative the first day, what with going to the vendor village in pouring rain, I made the most of it and stuck around getting to know many of them. John from Sealfloorboards,

Spyderfest2011Cuba063.jpg

and the couple that had the embroidery business (sure hope they are back this year too)

Every day was jam packed with something to do. Everyone could sign up for a ride of there choice. I chose the caverns / zip line. Mainly because this was the least amount of time riding and since I had already logged 2500 miles i was ready for another adventure with a fun group. I highly recommend this to all. Life long memories!

I also got excited about the bonfire,

getting my Lamonster-Block installed by Spyderpops

and it always came back to the people there. What an amazingly fun group. And a special thanks to Kurt Otteson for spending extra time to diagnose an issue I had with my Spyder. I sure hope BRP is there again.

but green was there every step of the way , and I thank them for it.

This video sums it up:

I can only imagine and hope that others have much anticipation for the BRP Owners event. I am attending this year. And my level of anticipation will grow stronger as it nears and we learn more about what is in store:yes:

Confession time:Before I signed up last year to go to Spyderfest I thought the abreviation "MO" was for Montana, and that it was put on by Lamont only to find out that Len was running the show. Would never of experienced the anticipation for Spyderfest if it had not been for the communication channels available on SpyderLovers. I log onto Spyderlovers just about everyday, onto the Can-Am BRP website occasionally and really enjoyed watching and reading about the videos made here of Lamonsters BBQ. There is a reason that Lamont is an Ambassador for BRP. I hope BRP doesn't look at Spyderfest as competition, and still sends there engineers and PR to the event.

I have allot of anticipation for my firsowners Event in Durango and look forward to riding in with a large contingency from NM.

didn't finish all my thoughts but I gotta run off to work. I will vote when I get back......................
