• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder trailer hitch

I ordered a trailer hitch for my 2011 RTS back in December. It was on backorder, and I was told it would be in around the beginning of February. Dealer still can't get it, and doesn't know when it will be available. Does anyone have some inside info as to why this part is unavailable? Any design issues?

ebay hitch

i purchased mine on eBay and had it in under a week
its a very robust design the hoop that goes around the back is solid steel unlike the can am hollow design
very easy instal directions were easy to follow even for a novice

has a removal rear section for when in not use can be taken off leaving the side plates

this unit mounts very solid and secure

I see on Ebay there are 10 after market hitches without power module
Are they any good?

I purchsaed one for my 2009 gs/rs this summer from them.Very sturdy unit and I would recomend them anytime. They installed mine and also did the wiring using a standard plug at my request. They even gave me the round plugs for the trailer and spyder side. The hitch is the same for gs/rs and the rt exept the mounting plates on the axles are specific to each model. You can remove the hitch by removing two bolts on each side and leaving the plates on the axels. I saw them doing the install and it seems to be a simple operation.

I have nothing specific against any aftermarket hitch, but I would like to insert a word of caution, so you can make an informed decision. The BRP hitch has a built-in rubber and urethane "shock absorber" mechanism. You can't see it, but it isolates the hitch bar from the mounts. This patented mechanism reduces the shock to the swingarm bushings and helps prevent vibration-induced metal fatigue and failures of the hitch bar or trailer tongue. The BRP hitch/wiring harness is well worth the money.
