• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have no idea what this does...Anybody?????

THROTTLE BODY THINGY

IT DOESN'T TURN, IT IS JUST SO SMOOTH YOU THINK IT'S TURNING...I THINK SCOTTY IS RIGHT AS USUAL....:agree: :gaah:  MIKE

Upon installing a riser block on my '08 GS/RS I have discovered that underneath the throttle box on the right hand side there is a knob that rolls back and forth. I have no earthly idea what this does.:dontknow: Anybody.......:helpsmilie:.

Just goes to show how we (at least I) have to read closer :banghead:. We were all looking at the back, and not the bottom. Now if you excuse me, but I have to go out and look at my spyder :roflblack:

This was more fun than picking on a kid sister when nobody's looking... :2thumbs:

Pretty foggy picture of the back. I still don't see the afore mentioned 'Knob'. But you definitly have a throttle lock. Maybe it's the tension adjustment for that. Without a better picture and a clue as to the 'knob' in question, that's my best shot.

I was going to take a clear pic today, but don't have to since the mystery has been solved. Yes, I do have a throttle lock installed. By the way, it don't work that good with Kuryakyn ISO Grips.

it is a throttle lock so you can lock the throttle and rest your hand while riding .

That is the one I have installed, and yes it is supposed to work that way.

To bad we are talking about Bumblebee67 Spyder, and not Blue Stars. The OP's question still has not been solved. So the thread goes on. :roflblack::roflblack:

I was reading the other two posts, and thinking the same thing :)

It will be there. It is the Zip-Tie holding the power cable running to the 'Throttle Box'.

Yeah...yeah...the first pic is of a vista cruise throttle lock and the one Yazz has pictured is a throttle mate throttle lock. I'm wearing clean socks.

While we're talking bout it...I found these on my Spyder.:D

After I read Scotty's post and looked at the picture more closely I thought :cus: that sure does look like a tie ....I went out and tore apart my "throttle box" and sure enough ....But what I don't understand is when we first found the "knob" it had grooves (for lack of a better word) on it (like what is on the END of the zip tie) nojokeand I SWEAR  that it rolled(or moved) back and forth. We just put it all back together and I asked the question on here and well..ya'll know the rest. Before we took the picture we messed with it some more and rolled it around and I guess we inadvertadly "tightened" it up because it won't budge now and the grooves are gone So I guess the mystery is solved ...... next.........I think Ron :bowdown:needs to take the stage.........

It's a piecost.

I suppose you're waiting for someone to ask 'What's a piecost'. So, to get it out of the way... I'll do it....

I'm about ready to take a BIG YELLOW PILL!

Don't touch it! It's the ejection seat firing mechanism. Your Spyder must have been made for a upcoming Bond movie.
