Got pulled over today!

Was doing about 80 for about 10 seconds, i droped it down to the posted speed limit of 65 and rode for about a mile, next thing i know i check my mirror and a HP car with lights on is right on my arse,,:yikes: i stop and the normal questions are asked by the officer, i showed him all the legal stuff and while he is checking my record on the computer, he starts asking me questions about the spyder, i told him everything i know about it and he said his wife is very interested in one of this "things". By the time everything is said and done, he lets me go with a warning and he is bringing his wife to my house to seat on the spyder and see if she likes it, is it not funny?

But I've had a few people tell me they would like to get their Wife / Girlfriend a Spyder [left handed compliment], Most of the time when they say that they have a smirk on their face, Like to say you're riding a girls bike.:dontknow:

I don't think the officer had any intentions of writing you a speeding citation, he used that as probable cause to stop you and ask you about your spyder. IMHO!!

The funny part is that he took me to his car and then he got on the computer, when my info popped up his eyes got really big :shocked:and asked me, "Do you have a gun on you?" My info shows that i have a concealed permit even tho i never carry my gun, i think he did things backwards:doorag:

You are probably correct, he just wanted to check the spyder, forgot to say, he was here about 2 hours ago, his wife did like the spyder very much and they went straight to the dealer to check them out, he lives just about 5 miles from my house, when i asked him why for his wife and not for him he said he is a 2 wheel guy and he say he rides for the force, and he gets to take his bike home, i figured he rode a HD or a BMW,,,,, hell no!!!!He rides one of the OHP hayabusas:shocked: I told him that is not fair he laughed:clap:

In Arkansas you have to notify the officer that you have a Concealed Handgun License and you are carrying at the beginning of the contact. They have it on the computer, anyway. IMNSHO someone carrying legally has gone through the background checks and received training is not someone to be real worried about and statistics back me up on those licensed to carry is a tiny fraction of a percent commit crimes.

He run the paperwork--but only wanted to talk about the Venture. I had a lighted Yosemite Sam mudflap (when you braked, the thing would light up in sequence like he was firing his guns). It had about 10 led lights on each side. Pretty fancy for those days. I also had a nice set of driving lights mounted on the crash bars.

He scared the heck out of me at first--but I guess he was having a slow day.

Not only in Oklahoma, even tho this is the 3rd time this happens to me in 7 years here in tulsa, the first time in 04 when i first got my Triumph rocket3, i got pulled over by a city official, when i ask him "what i do"? he said " I just wanted to see what the hell you are riding, never seen one of those before"

3rd time was when i installed the 245 55 16 bf goodrich car tire on the rocket, the cop kept saying "OMG" over and over again.

I had this exact thing happen to me. I was riding my Spyder down the highway from the Gold Coast to Coolie (in Australia) and a HP copper who usually rides a police bike pulled me over to have a look at the bike as he hadn't seen one before!! The second shock the copper had was the fact I'm a paraplegic riding one! In the U.S Paraplegic's have been riding the Spyder for a while, here in Queensland Australia I had to challenge and get the laws/ rules changed so people with a disability can ride these bikes!! I was only doing 97 in a 100km zone so I knew I wasn't getting done for speeding however being the first time I've been pulled over on my Spyder, wasn't sure what was going to happen!

I like the picture of the Rocket III. That is one mean bike. I test sat a fire engine red one a couple years ago and almost bit. The dealer told me to start it up. I did and when I cranked on the throttle I could not believe how the bike wanted to move sideways.

I figured I would get into to much trouble if I had all those horses under my control. I generally obey the speed laws--but would have been really tempted with the Rocket.
