Hey, Bob, we are down to the high 90's now, but expect to push 100+ next week. I bought the suit for winter riding...last year, we had several days under 20 and one overnight of 11 degrees. We always have a few day of 20's, but it will warm up to the 40's or so in the afternoon. Lots of water pipes frozen as they don't build here like they do up north.

It sure beats my four years at Grand Froks AFB, ND in the early 60's. Besides the cold, the wind blew all of the time...I had a '63 BSA twin and had to put a space heater on it to get it started...a three or four month riding season really gave you a lot of farkle installation time...oh, yeah, there was not any farkles then..ha ha

My group, the Hill Country Road Riders, ride every Saturday except when it falls on Christmas....rain or shine. Starting out in the mornings for lunch is often in the high 20's or low 30's...I learned many years ago, dress for the worse case, as you can always take it off. I carry different weights of gloves, electric jacket, scarf, etc. plus rain gear. With both the Wing and BR1, I can carry everything I need.

I never had heated grips until I bought BR1. I am looking forward to using them...

When they were putting BR1 together, I gave the tech a pigtail to my heated jacket and he hooked it directily to the battery and the cord is under the seat when I need it.

I am looking forward to the suit I am getting from Ron. This will be my first suit. I wear pants and different weight jackets plus heated vest. I have a battery heated vest, which is light weight, and adjustable warmth. I will wear it under the suit and turn it on as needed. The battery will heat it on high for six hours, longer on low...works very well.

No, I'm not sure anything is made in the USA anymore. I guess I wish they were too, but the price for this kind of quality would be pretty high.

Got Mine Today!

I received my Thermo Suit today and all I have to say is WOW! :2thumbs:

It's in the low 90's today and I was pretty warm when I got home and saw the package there, but I didn't care....I opened the box and proceeded to slip it on. The first thing that came to mind was "Lamont was right, it DOES feel like a sleeping bag!". :thumbup:

Ron, thanks for your help with placing the order and offering us such a great deal. The fit is almost perfect. Once I cool down a bit, I'll take some pics of me inside and outside of the suit so anyone out there my size can see how it might fit them. I am 5'3" (about 5'4" with riding boots on), 125 lbs, and ordered a Men's small.

I am really looking forward to extending my ryding season. :clap::clap:

As promised, here are pics of me with and without the Thermo Suit (I look like the Michelin Baby :roflblack. It took me about 3 minutes to get the suit on with my boots on, so I think I'll put it on without my boots next time. The zipper and velcro were a little difficult to get closed at the bottom of the pant leg, but I think it's just the user's limited experience with this type of apparel.
By the way, the zipper on the legs is a double zipper, meaning you can zip it from the bottom up and the top down; which allows you to still access your pants pockets without having to unzip the upper portion of the suit. :thumbup:

This is a Men's Small and I am about 5'4" with my boots on (as pictured).

I think they look pretty good on you. But then you can never trust a salesman! When you're warm and toasty while everyone else is freezing they will look that much better!

The suit sure looks good. Ron probably has my order by now, maybe tomorrow. (mail leaving my home takes two days to get to the main road..) My problem is that I hope it gets cold enough for me to wear. It may be 30 in the morning when I leave the barn, but 55 or so later in the day....too hot for this suit, I fear. Not to worry, I will just take it off and carry another jacket with me...lots of room in the Spyder....

The only downside to this suit is it doesn't store very well, I can barley stuff it in my right saddle bag and it takes up about half my trunk. I just moved it to the trailer so now I'm good. I will tell you when you get caught in unexpected cold weather it's great. :doorag:

Ditto me-- ordered my Kilimanjaro jacket on Monday, had it here on Wednesday. Fantastic shipping and better price, Ron!

Oh, and shockingly, you were right about the size: it *is* clearly one size larger than the FirstGear sizing chart. The numbers clearly said I was a 3XL, but the 2XL fits (almost) perfectly.

Almost, just because as a big guy I'd do a few things differently with the jacket-- It rides a little high over the spare tire. Plus, I can understand and appreciate the re-design they're doing for 2012-- the front pockets and venting aren't ideal, and the arm snaps are kind of silly.

BUT, at the price, it's a phenomenal bargain, and it's CRAZY warm-- might not even need heated gear this winter.

I received my Firstgear suit last night. I sure hope it turns cold soon so I can wear it. It is a well made, great looking suit and a bargain. I certainly recommend it....

I am 6'4" @ 215 and ordered a 3X. It may be a little large. It seems the sizes are very gererous.
