• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

FIRST THE EARTHQUAKE & NOW IRENE!!!

Well, it's been a tough week! First the earthquake which shook my house and scared us half to death, and now Hurricane Irene! :yikes: I live at the Jersey Shore and the news certainly isn't good for us right now. :( I am on the water and

at even the slightest storm my street is terribly flooded as well as my garage. Moved the :spyder2: to a storage unit but it's only 5 minutes from my house so I am not exactly sure how safe it will be. At least at this point it is about a

mile from the water instead of 50 feet from it! :gaah:

I'd jump on the Spyder and keep riding inland------

Plenty of room at my place in east pa. Come on over.

We will get the rain and wind. As long as i have power we should not flood out.

I'm on call this weekend I hope all the stores close for the storm so I can stay home.

The hurricane is a natural event, the earthquake was probably man made (or man caused, not sure which one is politically correct these days)! :yikes:

Earthquake in D.C.

I heard from friends in high places that they place the blame for it on "Bush's fault".:gaah:

We had the earthquake and the hurricane is coming up here as well.

Not to scare you, but I also thought I saw 4 horsemen on the side of the highway while I was riding home.

been gettting rain showers off and on since about 2:00. Some wind though not strong. Will be getting more wind and rain as the evening goes on. Most damaging part will come tomorrow. We've been ready for a day or two. Got the generator and chain saw out last night. we're stocked and ready. we're 100 miles west of Atlantic Beach NC.

I don't know :dontknow: that area too good, but my daughter is in Shohola,Pa. but is supposed to fly home Sunday morning. I tried to look up the storm map, but it did not help me because every time I zoomed in Shohola would disappear on the map. Are they evacuating in that area? Do you know how far it is from the coast. The map says it is an inch :D

Come to my house outside Wilkes-Barre. I have a generator and it is all gased up and ready plus a three car garage for your spider. Mine is lonely.

She missed Charleston,SC almost completely ,we just had a wet windy day with very little damage, some tree's down and power failures. Looks like you'll up north are going to get more but not as bad as they first thought,Cat 1 by the time it gets to NY{I was born in NY,glad I left!)

By time it gets to NJ/NY it will nothing more that a bad rain/wind day, that's all like a nor'easter that we get all the time nothing more.

SpyderLovers family helping each other, Thank you.

Rest easy, Shohola is a quite a way from the coast, and well into the Pocono Mountains...... Wind and rain will be their biggest troubles-

Thank you, my wife got a text from my youngest this morning, and they both are alright. My youngest (stationed at Ft. Drum, NY) drove over today, so she could say good bye before her sister comes home. They have driven in the rain, so we feel much better now. SpyderLovers family helping each other, Thank you.

Bad news sells, Really Bad news sells Really well!

Remember all the hand wringing over the decades of intollerable decimation we were going tos uffer from the Gulf Oil Spill? Where did those people go?

Global Cooling (coming ice age) changed to Global Warming (we'er all going to fry and the ocean will rise 50 feet), changed now to "Climate Change" so they can go either way and not look so silly.

I’m not saying that we should not take care of our planet, or that the oil spill was a good thing. But think about it, none of these events have even come close to living up to the doomsday news they continually give us.

Yet most of us continue to GLUE ourselves to the news reports?

Having been in the fire service and dealt with 'Disasters' i've seen first hand the ability of the news media to exaggerate the situation.

Like Rush Limbaugh (and others) say, “Follow the Money”.

The real shame is the potential for a “Boy Cried Wolf” effect.

The rain has begun here in NJ, (outside of phila) and about an hour and change from the shore line.......Its a big azz storm so the entire state will be engulfed with a lot of rain but it remains to be seen how much wind we will get.:dontknow:
