• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Trunk release? WTF

I have a new 2011 RS SE5 and found out by accident that I can open the trunk while the motor is running, just push in the key and turn. I though that this could not happen and was considering installing a trunk release button that I saw on one of the Spyder accessory websites. What is the deal?

Yes, I discovered this on my 2011 RTS a while back. Same goes for the seat release. There was a thread that discussed this.

I am 99.9 percent certain that this was introduced in the 2011 models.

---Update---

Just tested it. You have to turn the key off before it will depress to open the trunk. Makes me wonder if the ignition switch from a 2011 would work as a conversion kit for my 2010. Of course I am not going to spend hundreds of dollars to get a matching RFID ignition and key set to test it out.

Since you said you had the same effect with or without the trailer, I didn't mention anything further, but inadequate tongue weight on a trailer will cause the trailer to wander, introducing a fishtailing effect. A properly balanced trailer will actually make the Spyder handle better...especailly in the curves or in cross winds, IMO. For those that tow a trailer, it is essential to load them carefully to alway keep the tongue weight to around 10%-15% of the loaded trailer weight. Also keep in mind the 40 pound Spyder tongue weight limit.

I think this might have been a mispost, just a heads up so you can get the info to the right place.
