• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

It's time to vote for your favorite ambassador. There obligation to BRP is almost completed and it's time to hold them accountable for what they did for our Spyder community. Please do not be a brown noser and vote for Lamont just because he runs this site. Be honest.

Vote for the ambassador that you think was the perfect choice by BRP. Feel free to post your reasons why you voted the way you did and if you have any guts say why you didn't vote for the other. You can be critical as long as your nice about it.

Here's my choice. I'm voting for Mickey. Mickey has gone above and beyond what BRP expected him to do. His passion for the Spyder far exceeded what I thought it would. You can just see by his smile and the way he writes his blog that he was the perfect choice. And he actually needed a motorcycle. His old cycle was not cutting it (I wonder what ever happened to that). He hooks me to want to know what he is going to do next. He blogged 5 times in july, now that is going above and beyond obligations.

My second choice would be Lamont. He also loves his Spyder and is on the front line to defend BRP (trust me I know). :roflblack: He travels all over and even his Spyder is a billboard. He also is a needed spoke in our Spyder wheel.

The others could use some work. One barely leaves there town and thier spouse rides it more, one doesn't even blog and I think the other is more motorcycle general and not Spyder specific. These are just my opinions, so whats yours ???

:2thumbs: Lamont Guess that makes me a brown noser ! My vote goes to Lamont because he has put the time, effort and money into running this site. Lamont has done far more then any other ambassador to unite the Spyder community with this site. Lamont has owned a RS and a RTS and has been there and done that to the both of them mod wise and mechanically . He freely gives advice ,install tips and includes us in his travels through out this great continent. ( his videos ) He has successfully run the largest non sanctioned BRP event 3 years running with his BBQ ! a testament to his 100% devotion to the Spyder community .

Just a quick side note if Scotty was an ambassador I would have a really tough time deciding between the two .

Great work Lamont I don't think we need a survey to tell us who is #1 :2thumbs: Lamont and Spyderlovers :2thumbs:

I don't pick favorites. If "All-of-the-Above" was a choice, I would have voted. Seriously, each ambassador brings a little different flavor to the mix. I like it all. Some are tech savvy, others rack up the miles, some do great video and pictures, others write good articles. I love the perspective of the newcomer, the lady rookie, the experienced veteran, and the gearhead. I like the mix of the RS and the RT as their rides. They all get my vote. This is the greatest and most active group BRP hass assembled yet!

My Mom said I'd never grow up to be a diplomat...guess she was wrong. :)

Scotty, your taking the easy road on this one. :roflblack::roflblack: Even parents of multiple children have a favorite. They might not admit it, but they do.

Well, hopefully they don't know it...and neither do the children. :roflblack:

I'm voting for Faran 'cause she friended me on Facebook. :D

But also because, in the spirit of the original question, I think she was a good choice from the standpoint of the non-traditional biker. Lamont is an obvious choice, due to his high profile and generosity in running sites like this; but he's also been a member of the two (and three wheel) community for some time. From the perspective of being an ambassador to bring in the open road newbies, Faran's background makes a lot of sense.

Well Farran is more attractive than the rest of them combined...
But I couldn't call any one of them better than the others either... They ALL deserve our heartfelt grattitude! :2thumbs:

Ambassador Gen.1: BRP picked major forums/newsletter leaders; free Spyder RT’s+maintenance
Ambassador Gen.1 1/2 : BRP replace two Gen.1 with short/seasonal riders; free Spyder RT’s+maintenace
Ambassador Gen.2: BRP replace Gen. 1 1/2 with “fresh, new blood” non-Spyder previous owners; free RS’s and maintenance and open the check book ($15K for 6 months); two Gen.1 upgrade to 2011 Spyder RT Limited and Trailers.
If one subtracts the financial interest from both BRP (just doing business) and all Ambassadors, IMHO the winner is…Lamont, because he:
- Organized and lead the SL community and the best/verifiable vendor group
- Put together a communication chain between owners and BRP technicians
- Drift with the Major Spyder Problems in the period 2008-2011 (fires, DPS, front suspension etc)
- Test/innovate/test again and ryde to almost all major Spyder Events
Note for the new added Gen. 2 Ambassadors: We will watch you after the financial/contractual obligations with BRP come to an end (Nov.2011).

Katlyn would have my vote too - besides Lamont, she's put the effort into getting things done - I can't see a single contribution from the others….. JMHO
