• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

first bad belt issue

yazz, its ok, raptor and I have talked about this in detail and we are on the same page, I don't think he hates his spyder anymore than I do. I do appreciate the back up. I tell everyone I meet that it is not fast enough but is the best trike on the market. Just needs another 20 hp at a minimum. The salt flats this year should be a real seth misadventure.

Didn't realize y'all were trash talking at each other. Sorry... :opps:

Kumbaya, Kalua, and marshmallows anyone?

Yes, please, Ma'am!

Ms. Joy, it's all good. I figured it was just some silly misunderstanding. These things happen. Big kids can work stuff out though! ;) I'm glad it's behind us.

Seth, is there an agends for your trip to the flats? Are you gonna try for a speed mark like Doc or something? That's exciting stuff, man. I have never been out there, but just from the film amd pics I have seen it's a strange yet beautiful place. You will definitely have to keep us posted of your adventures. It's gonna be a gas, Brother!

Glad its behind us too. Whenever we get together, I owe you a beverage of your choice.

that escalated quickly, everyone in this post is on the same team, I know that some people are into spyders for different things but all come together if someone needs help, and that is what make this site great.

I should be out in Wendover UT on friday august 26th, Still looking for a co pilot for the trip out.

check out the new exhaust video I put up.

Ms. Joy, You are on! That will be a good day indeed. I'll get the second round!

Seth, I'm still kind of learning this new site format so I'm havin a bit of trouble finding the exhaust vid. I'll find her though. I have seen the stills and the new can looks wicked cool! Seems to me that will get you a few more ponies for sure...

here are some pics, got about 25k for miles on this belt, don't know what happened but it went fast, I had it adjusted and I think it was too tight. Big that thanks to Doc for coming thru in the clutch.

I thought I had a clutch plate go and started pulling panels off and then I noticed some mild belt tooths missing (spelled wrong for effect)

Got a new one coming from cowtown and a new rear bearing for the sproket just in case.

I am a new Spyder owner and only have 1500 miles on my Spyder RSS. I notice that the belt runs close to exhaust pipes on the left side at drivers foot peg and after I ride for about one hr. and stop the heat transfer to the belt. I sprayed some water on the belt next to the pipe and boiled off in seconds. The talked to some guys at my local bike shop that work on bikes said that the heat build up could shorten the life of the belt. For now I cool the belt with a spray bottle when park it. When I raced sport cars I used exhaust tape to keep to heat out of the engine compartment, but I'm afraid it would get lose and stuck in the belt. Maybe a spray product to stop the heat transfer? That's IMHO.

I have exhaust wrap on that pipe, it is because I burned my leg which I can't feel twice so I try to transfer it out of those areas. I don't think with me being as hard on my spyder as I am ( or am I, who tested this thing??) that if I get 25k for miles out of it then people that are less "spirited" should be just fine. I am impressed with how well the belt hold up considering how long it is and the weight of the rear wheel.
