I think I need a trailer for my RT-S and I dont want to pay the price of a new one, so I'm looking at used. When I bought my Spyder the dealer talked about the LED lights ontheir trailers and didn't know if I could hook up lights from some other trailer. Is anybody pulling a trailer with car bulbs and did you have to do anything special ?????? I see that Can AM makes an adapter to 4 prong, but My dealer said he didn't know if it would hurt the electrical system ? Thanks Rick

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have the RT-622 trailer and love it. I can bring two sets of golf clubs, a suitcase, tools a cooler etc and have plenty of room. It tows effortlessly, I don't even know it's back there. There are lots of choices out there but I was looking for the matching Can-Am trailer and it works great for the wife and I. Take your time looking around because there are always used ones that surface from time to time.

I purchased a 2011 Rt-622 in Apri and paid $3999 plus $499 for the hitch. I understand there is not much difference between to 2010 and the 2011 except for the tail lights. The price sounds reasonable, and if that is their asking price, they may take even less if you wanted to make a counter offer. My trailer has a lot of room and I am very happy w/ it.

I pull three different trailers...including the RT-622 factory trailer. Two have conventional bulbs. All work just fine.
The 4-pole adapter that BRP sells is made to adapt the RT-622 trailer to other vehicles. It will not adapt a 4-wire trailer to the Spyder. To do that you will need to build your own adapter, or rewire the trailer to match the Spyder. Easiest way to do this is to add separate turn signals to the trailer (if necessary to make it 5-wire) and use the 2010 Trailer Tongue Harness as the basis of an adapter or wired directly to the trailer. The 2011 tongue harness may actually work directly with a 4-wire, but I have not seen the schematics or tried that, as yet. As an alternative, you could purchase the matching Deutsch connector, pins, blank plugs, and crimping tool, and just swap connectors on the trailer. If you purchase a tongue harness, and take the Spyder and trailer to a local trailer shop, they should be able to wire it and test it for you.

Look at "America's Best Trailers" (E-bay). You can get a great trailer for under $2000, delivered. They have several designs, sizes, and prices. Personally, I would never consider the 622 - they cost more than my 7x12 top of the line enclosed ramp trailer, that fits the Spyder perfectly. Additionally, they cost more to ship than my Spyder did. JMHO

A ryder at Spyders in the Redwoods was towing a non-BRP trailer and said he got the 5 pin>4 pin adapter at Pep Boys. Is 5 pin a common thing in Canada eh? I don't tow a trailer, I just live in one.

I bought the wire harnes for there trailer and put the end on for my trailer workes fine towed it 1500 miles no problem.

We just acquired a Bunkhouse Queen. Plenty of storage and a tent to boot. Made my own adapter with help from this bunch of folks. Bunkhouse came with LEDs all around.

No , Most of my trailers that I have owned over the years were 4 pins for the lights, the 5 pin connector is a BRP thing

No, it is not! Four-pole connectors are for trailers without separate turn signals. Five-pole wiring is needed for trailers with separate turn signals. There are a number of these on the market. Some manufacturers use 6-pole connectors for those 5-pole trailers. BRP uses a 9-pole connector with seven active wires. Not all of these are actually used by their trailer. That is BRP's thing.

I pulled my Bushtec trailer that matches my 08 RS. It toed just fine behind my 2010 RT-S. If you have 4 wire plug, then you'll have to use a test light and wire your own harness the old fashion. way.

Yup, Teddy looked at this one & he liked it a lot:thumbup: but he settled on the Micro-Lite Moto-Mate Camper instead, for more practical reasons. Since he does SO much traveling, & we often get caught in the middle of nowhere in a gulley-washer thunder-storm, we thought it best to have a camper that we could just pull over to a safe place & hop in, protected from the elements & without having to set up anything.
Also, with the Moto-Mate at home, when we take the mattress out, we have a totally enclosed storage/utility trailer accommodating just about anything, for those restocking trips to the grocery store or even the Home Improvement store with more usable storage space than most full-size SUVs:clap: And the Kicker, we got it brand new at 50% off the retail cost, coming in under 3 grand:joke:
