• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

LEG 1 Completed

Awesome Jim. I new they were close so I figured it was a fuel stop. These 2 are great friends of mine, but I think I need to Baker act them. They are NUTS

I just got done intercepting Doc and Forrest @ exit 240 in Iowa on I80. They are doing well the heat is finally subsiding for the evening and they should have a great nights ride. Hopefully they will be to SD by day break and reaching elevation so they will have cooler riding. Their plan is to reach the Redwoods event by Tuesday in the AM.

Godspeed my friends:clap:

Nuts probably yes, determined and great friends definitely.

It was so awesome to see them again they were only literally 1.5 minutes from my home on their fuel stop, that GPS tracker thingy is way cool.

Looks like the dynamic duo blasted thru Lincoln Nebraska this morning at 0630 Florida time. They are making great progress.

I am so impressed with both these guys. This would kill a young man yet Doc and Forest have set the bar about as high as it can go for us cross country travelers. I knew Doc would make it as long as his Spyder did but I had my doubts about Forest. Not just his age but his health too and dealing with all this heat let alone the pace that Doc sets. I would say I hope I'm as tough as him at his age but I'm not that tough now. You guys are hardcore riders and great SpyderLovers members. We'll keep you both in our prayers. :bowdown:nojoke

You are so right Lamont. These guys are awesome. The heat has been the roughest thing so far. I just got off the phone with Doc and they were taking a fuel/rest stop.

Just talked to Doc and Forrest. They are in Cheyenne The batteries on the spot are dying but Doc will pick up some on the next stop. Doc said it eats batteries like crazy. LOL
1300 miles to Eureka Cali for them.

Here is the update.
The RT can not keep up with the Turbo RS. Forrest has had a few limp mode/check engine light issues over the last 4 hours. No current codes came up when I had Doc check it.
Its gonna be right down to the wire for them to arrive and rest before the event starts.

I wanted to post this picture last Thursday but I couldn't do it from my phone. This was at Tail of the Pup shortly after Doc and Forrest arrived.IMAG0589.jpg

It looks like the Dynamic Duo have around 740 miles to go. Its gonna be real close, but they are pushing on toward Eureka. Gonna get a status update soon from Doc and see how things are going. The killer part is this is only leg 2. They will have a 3200 mile run in a few days to get back home.

UPDATE****
Forrest is in Salt Lake City at the hotel. His Spyder was picked up late yesterday by High Adventure Motorsports due to limp mode issues. Doc is continuing on and Forrest will start back up after repairs and rest. Doc said he will miss the first day of meet and greet, but will be there for day 2 of the event. If you guys see a u-turn on the spot tracker, remember, the gas stations are few and far between where they are and Doc remembered that this morning, so it was back to top off. Wishing Doc good luck and safe travel for the rest of the trip.:thumbup::thumbup:

Doc is nearing the famed Bonneville Salt Flats. I think we all remember what happened the last time he was near there. :yikes::yikes:
Forrest should be sleeping and waiting for High Country to open. ZZZZZZZ ZZZZZZZZ
