• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. New CB Problem

stillriding

happy old fart
Here's hoping someone will be able to tell me where to look for an answer. My '10 RTS had had the PTT issue, but that was solved. However, I now cannot hear any CB audio...either through the external speakers or the headset. The screen indicates TX or RX so I believe the unit is functioning properly, especially since my buddy heard me transmitting. The AM/FM also can't be heard through the headset. A friend and I experimented by switching helmets and cords, but we still couldn't hear anything in either headset. Could it be the RECC pod (AGAIN)? It's already been replaced twice. And it did get very wet in a recent storm. To summarize, I'm getting no CB audio at all and AM/FM audio only through the external speakers. Yes, I did check the settings. Thanks.

Sounds to me like the problem may be in the entertainment harness. This could impact the headset audio (AM/FM) and the connection of the CB to th RT's sound system (headst & external speakers).

How about the intercom system, does it work? Also, did you try hooking the headset to the passenger jack?

Thanks for your response, Mark. I hadn't thought about trying the passenger jack. Just tried it and it, too, is silent. I'm unable to try the intercom system now because I don't have another helmet/headset (I ride alone). It looks like I'll have to take it into the shop.

As a follow up to my "new" CB problem, the dealer has had my RTS for six days and, despite phone calls to BRP, still has been unable to restore the audio. BRP suggested installing new switches, but they won't be received until next week sometime. Stay tuned.

No CB audio either

Having same issue on 2011 RTS with headset. Husband's CB unit OK, he hears me, but I can't hear him, even though the RT and RX shows. Occasionally he comes through, but no way can I get the volume loud enough either, it is like he's in the basement. Otherwise, can't hear him at all. PLUS sometimes I get hear myself, like feedback through my own headset if I'm talking to someone standing beside me, not even pushing the PTT button. Is that crazy? Need3Wheels for a reason, but still riding.

Whatever the dealer installed, it didn't work. He's stumped and hopes to speak with BRP's top electronics maven who's on vacation until next Monday, the 29th...which will be my RTS' 15th day of captivity. The Spyder tech did confirm that my J & M headset is NOT the problem.

To update, BRP rushed a CB module and some other stuff this past Thursday, but to no avail. My dealer tried to reach the appropriate company guy four times yesterday to see what else should be done, but NONE of those calls was returned. So, after three weeks the problem still exists and I have nothing to ride!

Compared to others I guess I've been lucky because I've had no major, mechanical problems. However, over the last year-and-a-half my RTS has spent a lot of time being out of service. But now, three weeks! I've been a very strong advocate of the Spyder and of BRP, but no more. I have lost all confidence in the company and its product and, yes, I am very angry. Don't be surprised if you see it listed for sale in the near future...IF I ever get the damn thing back!

I am waiting for the same BRP Tech and was told he won't be back until the Sept 6th. Mine is on 8th day of captivity, THIS TIME (46 days total, so far).

Is your husband on a spider?? Have you adjusted the volume for the cb in the screen that shows the cb channel? Has he turned up the volume on his cb transmit?

Just wondering.....
