• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RS Body Panel Braces.

I will dig into the tax thing, I am with you if you do not live in WA than you should not have to pay WA taxes, however I want to cover our a** as a business. IF I DO NOT NEED TO CHARGE STATE SALES TAX WE WILL REFUND THOSE OF YOU WHO PAID ALREADY VIA PAYPAL. Pictures are on the way, the new design is the same as the prototype other than we used a stiffer more heat resistant material(the original is still running strong) I will try and get some up close and personal pics posted this week. Thank you for your patience and coaching on here guys.

You don't have to charge sales tax to people ordering out of state-- as long as you're shipping it out of state.....

Now---- are they supposed to pay sales tax on such items? Yes -- to their own state--- but no one really does..... They have area on state tax forms to pay such taxes..... but like I said most people just don't do it.

Here in Michigan a bunch of people got into big trouble for buying smokes online and not paying the $2.00 a pack state taxes---- the state tracked them down and made them pay up --- some people owed thousands of dollars.....

I doubt most states come after folks for the basic sales tax ---- we'll see this change in the years to come where we all have to pay tax for everything bought online.... :(

Yeah, your best friend Walmart (joking, of course) wants everyone to pay taxes for Amazon and ebay, etc...it's amazing how a company that puts everyone else out of business is suddenly feeling the heat from other companies that run a rather good business. I really like Amazon...

As far as taxes go, you are 100% correct. You do NOT collect a state tax when you ship out of state, period! No states are going to go after anyone at this time (something is fishy with your cigarette example...must've really been a big business) because everyone buys stuff online these days. If states start to clamp down, you're going to see a major push to get rid of those politicians. It's enough with the political bullying and taxes...it makes no sense that if I buy anything from let's say Michigan, that I have to pay a MI, or for that matter, a MD tax...

You guys are absolutely right! I was just making sure to cover my bases. For those of you who got billed before this was brought to my attention, you will notice I edited your invoices(not paid yet) and refunded taxes (already paid) to your account. Again thanks to everyone for helping me out, I am starting to get the hang of it.

"something is fishy with your cigarette example...must've really been a big business" It happened to a good friend of ours a couple of years ago, cost her $4000.

:agree:

These were not businesses that got busted here in Michigan - they were individuals - and many of them owed thousands of $$$$ in taxes on their online ordered smokes. This made our newspaper and I remember them interviewing the people, etc... One lady lost her house due to owing so much-- :yikes:. Doesn't take long to add up at $2.00 a pack!

Yeah...likely they'd go after cigarettes, alcohol, etc...here in MD, the socialists just instituted a 9 and I think 11% tax on alcohol..of course, we also pay 47 cents a gallon tax, for gas (that's going up too)...then again, ordering gas online is a bit tough!

Just remember-- without a *little* socialism -- we wouldn't have roads to ride our Spyders on----- :D (or the cops to pull us over---- :roflblack:)

Silly, that's not socialism, that's vital services...as far as the cops go, yeah, I guess they're vital too...but they shouldn't be allowed to pull over any Spyders!
