As I understand it, a bill to end the subsidy for ethanol fuels was intrioduced, but it was not passed. My salesman told us that the acohol is to be stopped by next year, is this correct or more rumor?

I understand this possibilty has been opened up by regulatory action, but it has not been mandated...yet!I'm hearing rumors of going to 15% vice current 10% Ethanol. Lots of two-cycle engines will be destroyed.
It's a joke, son, as Foghorn Leghorn would say. :joke:I don't see why you couldn't say it... I guess it's how you define "politics".
I would surmise that folks basically take it to mean, "My guy's the best thing since sliced bread and Mother's milk and your guy's a :cus:."
Urging folks to get active is just... SMART!
I have a bit over 3,800 miles on the 2011 RTS Limited. Our recent trip to San Antonio pulling trailer got us between 21 and 22mpg going down fighting a strong wind while pulling the RT-622 trailer averaging 75MPH. The return trip we got 24MPG running same speed. I bought 91 & 93 octane gas at stops, but was not able to find any real gasoline in Texas. We run 91 octane real gasoline and am back up to a bit over 30MPG without trailer here at home and on a recent round trip to Clarksville. Best I have gotten has been 32MPG one time and that was well before 600 miles on the machine.
I live 30 miles northwest of S.A. Our large stations are Valero and Wal-Mart, as you know. My Valero is "up to 10% ethanol" and Wal-Mart has no such sign...so I guess it is "gasoline". Both stations are close to me and I fill wherever I happen to stop. I use regular and can not tell any difference in mileage...or performance. Same with my Gold Wing Motor Trike....
:spyder2:
I haven't been keeping track of mine, but it's a heck of a lot better than the 14 mpg my 2003 Jeep Liberty is getting!!!! :roflblack::roflblack:
Wish we could have gotten together while we were down your way. We stayed at the J.W. Marriot Resort, so was probably pretty close to you. I haven't seen a Murphy Oil Station (Wal-Mart) that sold 100% gasoline. All stations I have found 100% gasoline have signs up stating that they sell 100% gasoline -- generally independents. Most of the time it is for Plus and Premium without ethanol in it. Expect to pay at least a dime a gallon more for it, but I'll gladly pay the extra for better fuel mileage and less wear on components such as hoses.
I don't know how it is in all states, but many have requirements that gasoline with more than a certain amount of ethanol be labeled. In Michigan, up to 5% used to be allowed without a label, but now they have raised that to 10%, so only the E85 stuff is labeled. There may also be differences between companies in some locations, with some shooting straight and letting you know, while others sell the gas to you blindly. I have never seen pure gasoline sold without a sign and a premium price.
Not in Michigan. They decided to make it legal not to post the signs anymore. They prbably all own stock in an ethanol company.I know in Jersey there used to be label's on the pumps saying this gas contains ethanol, But to tell you the truth i haven't notice them lately.
Could be just like deer crossing signs after a while you don't notice them anymore?.:dontknow:

It's a map to all of the "PURE-GAS" stations listed for every state in the US & I believe Maybe some in Canada. Sadly, we have NONE around our area for us to try to see if there's a difference:gaah: But maybe others can benefit
