• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Bringing my RT to Quebec for a holiday

I leave tomorrow on the RT for a 7,000 km return trip to Montreal. Hopefully I will also get to the Spyder Fest in Magog on the Sunday.
I'm going solo on the way out and my wife is coming along for the ryde back. :ohyea:

I got a hi-viz Schuberth C3 this week that is much lighter than my old C2, so I'm keen to see how it is in comparison.

I'll try to post photos from along way way.

I've covered just over 3200 km in 4 days and made it to Val d'Or in northeastern Quebec last night. Today, I turned south to Ottawa, and tomorrow I'll get to Montreal.

The RT is running great and no issues on the ryde except for some pretty hot weather and, now that I'm in the east, high humidity too. I am surprised with the wear on the rear tire. It'll likely need replacing when I get home, with only around 15000 km (<10000 mi) -- and not any burn outs on it...

The C3 helmet is good, and lighter than the C2 so pretty comfortable for the long days. Just a bit tight on the ears, but I much prefer the new opening system and the larger sunscreen.

Have still seen only 5 other Spyders in 4 days -- but I am taking mostly less-travelled roads.

It'll be 2 weeks tomorrow that I've been on the road and so far I've covered 3,467 miles (5,580 km) in 4 provinces (SK, MB, ON, QC) and 3 states (MI, WI, MN), mostly on secondary highways but from superslab to gravel. We head into ND tomorrow and then back home Sunday.

The RT has been flawless and is great both solo and 2-up. I've now got a total of 8,578 mi (13,805 km) since last August (which is really only about 2 months of riding time).

Seeing lots of riders on the roads, but surprisingly few ryders -- maybe 10-12 only, about 50:50 GS/RS:RT.

I'll get some photos up when I'm back home.

Godspeed on the rest of your journey!

Thanks Scotty!

We got back home this aft after the last leg from North Dakota. Covered a total of 4,212 miles (6,779 km), with the RT never missing a beat in 12 days of ryding! (I've done 15,004 km in total.)

Lots of interest everywhere in the Spyder, including the border agents going into the US and then back into Canada. Both were women, and I had as many women ask about it as men on the trip.

I'll have to post photos in a few days when my computer is back from the shop.
