• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Gasoline oder

Questions

I just bought a 08 Spyder RS and have noticed after doing some in town stop and go riding, which i do a lot, I notice gas smell when I am stopped or when I get home and shut it down. Can't see any visable leaks, but do have a very noticeable oder, anyone else?

This is quite common. The Spyder Fuel tanks should not be filled to full capacity. The excess fuel then goes into the evap canister and gives off this fuel smell till it all evaporates. Doing this over and over deteriorates the particles inside that canister and defeats the purpose of it. And then you will smell fuel longer and more often as a result.

It is a tough balance to figure out. Because if you shove the fuel nozzle all the way in, you fall anywhere from a full gallon to a half gallon short of fuel. But pulling the nozzle out to far to get more fuel in results in the fumes. It is a balance of trial and error... Good luck!

:agree: and :welcome: What I normally do is when I leave for a long ryde I will fill the tank was as much as I can with the nozzle barely into the tank. If just a normal fill-up with no or little distance before I stop ryding I stick the nozzle in all the way, and don't worry if completely full.
