• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone here in the SF bay area know a body shop that will apply 3M protection film to a spyder? I've read some of you guys have it from previous posts. Thanks! BTW, the weather is beautiful to ryde right now! :2thumbs:

I don't know of a shop but I'd be more inclined to look for a shop that installs window tint or wraps. They would have much more experience.

That's where I went to find an authorized installer in my area. They use something along the lines of the 3M clear film. They have the pattern for the Spyder available so it should make it easier to install, no cutting involved. Not sure though if they have the RT pattern, but I know they have the RS as it is what I have. Have had mine installed for a little over 3 months now and so far so good. It's holding up real well.

Thanks Fire Joe! I have an RS also. Ideally, I wouldn't mind just getting the hood of the Spyder protected. Or possibly cover all of the yellow portions since it's in the front. Since I have a black & yellow spyder.

It's what I did, just the hood and front fenders. Figured everything else is well protected plus they're on the sides. Good thing about them having the pattern is you can pick and choose what pieces you want

How does it work out when you wash it? I myself like to use Pledge wipes to clean my Spyder. Would that still work out for the protective film? :2thumbs:

i found a detailing shop in Minneapolis. They got the idea from one in Vegas. They did both cars for us, plus my LT. Probly should coat the frunk lid, at least.

I am pretty sure it will. I treat it pretty much as an extra coating of clear coat and that is what the installer told me as well. I don't use Pledge wipes so I can say 100% sure though. As for cleaning, I wash my Spyder and wax it. Wax gets applied right over the film on the pieces that have it and gets buffed out as well. So far there is no harm done to the film that I can tell and because it pretty much is like clear coat, I like how it shines when I am done cleaning and waxing it  Though of course that pretty much only lasts until my next long ride when it gets covered with bugs :roflblack:

Since the panels are already plastic just apply Rejex. I have a clear bra on my car but I just use Rejex on my Spyder, BMW, and helmets. The Best!
Only available online. No, I don't work for Rejex or anyone else for that matter! :roflblack:
