• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Battery post under seat

Yes, there is, and it a b***h to get to. Don't touch the negative jumper post under the seat! Go back to the negative terminal on the battery. If your negative jumper connection is loose, it should be tightened. It can cause lots of problems. BRP should put a big warning label on this thing so nobody messes with it.

YES....But it is H E Double L to get to...:yikes:...

Freebob...:doorag:

What is the easiest way to get to the nut? I can touch it with one or two fingers from the top but I cannot hold it strong enough to get it tight... I shouldn't have listen to my RT dealer when he told me to connect my electric vest from under the seat...

Remove the appropriate body panels, then either heat and bend a wrench to fit, or use an appropriately shaped ratcheting box wrench.

Hi I had the same problem, the nut should be fixed, but I think it is a serated gripper nut as we call them in Australia, I slipped a small screw driver under head of bolt to keep tension on nut and then it gripped no problem, then made a mental note not to touch it again, one wonders why it is not set up as per the pos connection!

Last year, while installing the CB/Intercom system, I decided that I would pull that bolt out and thread the hole, making it much easier to use. What I found was that BRP had already threaded it, but had decided to use a smaller bolt and nut in it instead. I bought & installed the proper size bolt to use the threads already in place. I did have to change out the ground connector end to allow use of a larger bolts as the existing one was designed for the original smaller bolt.

I got it tighten now... I found one of those cheap flat wrench that usually comes with furnitures to be built at home. I bent the end a little more then 90 degree and slightly gave a curve to the handle. This thing slipped under and reached the nut just like it had been factory made for it.

Good fix

Nothing better than a good, cheap, fix. So please elaborate, what about your dealer and the business of connecting electric clothing?

I'd love to see a picture of the modification to that wrench... :D

This may be reduntant but I came up with the wrench approach as well. I started to undo the nut on the negative to add wire for my trickle charger when I realized it must have a nut on the other side. I found an old cheap open end 10 mil wrench, bent it in my vise to about 110 degrees and slid it under the frame til I felt it hit the nut (taking the seat off could help but managed it without) and then I used a socket on the head and turned as if tightening. When the nut lined up the wrech slid over the nut and voila, bolt is again tight. As second person would be helpfull as it is hard to hold the wrench and the ratchet, but again I manageaged on my own.

I then drilled a small hole in the copper lug and tapped a little 5 millimeater bolt hole and then used this bolt to add my trickle charger for now.

Ther is definately some odd engineering on this bike, lol....

It's called using parts from your other products extra parts bin'
Come on who but but BRP still uses 1157 tail light bulbs?
And just try to change one on the road. And you don't want to be on the road if both lights burn out.
