• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Cardboard helmets!!!

retread

Just read on Kneeslider about a bicycle helmet with a cardboard liner. Seems the cardboard gives better protection than the normal foam, is replaceable, and obviously cheaper. The company is Kranium Helmets, and they're working on motorcycle helmets.

Wow, that's wild. I can't seem to get my brain wrapped around the idea of a cardboard liner, no pun intended... OK, maybe just a littleone!! :roflblack:

At any rate , we will need to follow this and see where it goes. Could be the next big thing, and something so simple. Who would have thought? :dontknow:

I don't know about this. Cardboard would absorb so much moisture when I sweat, and being paper would fall apart too fast for me.

Wow, after viewing the video I have to say I have changed my mind about my sweating concerns.

I think your first instinct has value. They just need to treat it with a chemical to reduce or remove this issue. If not, I fear the shelf life and or life of usefulness of this product would be limited.

This is actually not new tech. They have been trying for years to do this to Automobiles (Bumpers)... The issues they seem to never overcome is vibration and moisture... Both of course we got quite a bit of on Bikes...

Regardless. This is off the charts awesome!

They'll probably find that the side effects of the chemical used can make some users go blind or impotent:roflblack:

Or cause chafing, rash, irritability, insomnia, thoughts of suicide, blindness or in some cases death!! :roflblack: :roflblack:

You gotta love the modern discalimers these days...

In Florida I would have to worry about cockroaches eating my helmet -- they love cardboard.
