• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

HELP NEEDED! BROKEN SHOCK ADJUSTER

I ve heard these things are a POS, but now I KNOW it!!

If anyone has an extra one hanging around for a 2010 RT (not sure if a 2011 adjuster will work on a '10) I would be very interested in hearing from YOU!!

Do the RS and RT share this part?

We are supposed to leave tomorrow morning, but now...:dontknow:

THANKS!!

*an extremely depressed Brad in WA!:(*

The parts are shared by both machines. They aren't up to the job, and have been redesigned for 2011. The 2011 parts will retrofit to the older Spyders. New parts are:

706001061 - Adjuster Ring - $10.99
706001062 - Ring Protector - $2.49

You will need two of each. The shock/spring must be disassembled to fit the new pieces. Jack up the Spyder and spray the adjusters with WD-40 to make adjustment easier, and less likely to break the old style rings.

cowtown has an xtra 2010 shock complete the matching shock had same problem, call and we can get you hooked up......Scotty is right on the price of the parts...but you will have to have a spring compressor and so on....we can send this one complete 800 258 6898 ask for Len

Thanks for the input!

But..!

I called every dealer within driving distance, except, of course, in CN. No luck.

So I called my dealer one last time to order one,and 'lo and behold, they have 2 in stock!! When I called the first time, the service counter guy looked it up. The second call, the parts guy looked it up. I guess the parts dude is a bit more adept at parts looking-up than the service fella!

Brought the shock in with me, and was out with a new adjuster in 15 minutes. No charge.

Anywho, disaster averted and back on schedule!!

Launch time between 600 and 800 hours tomorrow.

Thanks for the offer,Len!!!!! And for the info Scotty!!!!!:D

One more thing, then I ll shut up!!

I must give a bit THUMBS UP,EH? to Lifestyles Honda in Mt Vernon for installing the adjuster while I waited. I actually anticipated a.." well, we might get to it...Tuesday afternoon.." and was glad they installed it on the spot.
