• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

We will be going to Lake George to attend Americade for the first time and would like to hear about your experience. Is there any lodging you would or not recommend?

i attended americade--probably 10 years ago by now...can't really help with lodging questions...but just want to encourage you to go and enjoy....one can talk about the beauty of upstate new york..but words really fail....it is beautiful!!! americade is very well organized and well run...safe ryding !!!

Probably at this point there are not to many choices in the village left to choose from. You might end up taking what you can get your hands on, or staying a little further away from the village. I live about an 1.5 hours from there.

I have been the last 3 years and have stayed at 3 different places...the best place that we like is The Studio Motel. It is 1/2 mile form the expo and 3/4 mile from downtown. So at night it is nice to be able to walk to town for all of the action.

I am not sure if there is any availability...but give them a call. There is a group of 3 of us coming up Sunday and staying until the next Saturday.

Let me know anything else that you need to know.

Later,

Shawn

I would phone around for lodging . Given the way the economy is there are bound to be cancellations . We go as often as we can and still love it,lots to see,do and buy .

I attended every year from 1983 to 2001... You won''t find a spot in lake George now. You'll either be down near Saratoga or up near Pottersville. Glens Falls might have something I suppose...
Be ready for congestion to a level that is amazing... About 50,000 bikes show up in that small town. The TourExpo always has something for everybody.
I'd be going this year were it not for family commitments...:gaah:
Have fun! :2thumbs:

I have not heard of that one...there is a lot of small places out there.

I did just call the Studio and they do have rooms available. They have a 5 night minimum which is very typical for Americade week and they are $129 per night.

This place is very clean and nice location.

Wish we were going to be there 5 days but only 3. I think the Clinton is a mile from the event and on the trolley route which sound good. Just as long as it's clean. Maybe we will see y"all or send a priv msg to us.

 No wonder you're such a young smart@ss... :D:thumbup: Not to be judgemental; but did you EVER decide???:roflblack: Don't answer that!
The first year of the Aspencade convention they had 4000 bikes show up... Everybody said, "Wow! Look at all the bikes!" If they only knew... A bunch of Canadians came down on CBXs outfitted with enough driving lights to burn a hole through a moose if it stepped out into the road in front of them... Yamaha debuted their Venture... I tested one, but bought my 'Wing for next year's convention. (First year up I rode an 82 "Zook" 450TX; humble beginnings for sure, but the hook was set!)

No, she just says I'm just good for nothing. :roflblack: I know you can't make it to Americade, but do you think you will go to Spyders in the Adirondacks at the end of July ??? I would love to meet ya, and shoot the breeze for awhile.

My favorite bike rally. Do not get up there as often since I moved from Va. to Florida. Beautiful place to ride. Enjoy, I am riding up there this weekend and hope to hook up with some spyders.:2thumbs:
