• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

EVO Sway Bar on RT

When I traded my 08 GS for a 2010 RT-S that Dealer had in showroom left over just before 2011 came in that someone was going to buy and had several acc. added to it then for whatever reason he backed out of purchase and I got a great deal, Sway bar might have been changed also.
What color are bushings on EVO RT Sway bar..?..

Freebob..:doorag:

The bushings on the Evo Swaybar are black. I just received mine a few days ago and went out to the garage and checked. Haven't even had a chance to get it installed yet. Waiting for the Works Shocks to arrive.

Thanks for the reply...Mine are green probably stock. I just haven't seen any other RT's to confirm... And didn't want to order an EVO until I was sure...:coffee:...

EVO and RT as investment

A huge thread last year addressed the EVO sway bar. I believe it was Lamonster who commented that the EVO is beneficial on the GS/RS, but for the RT/RT-S, etc., upgrading your front shocks to Elkas or Penskes were the far better demonstrated investment and handling upgrade; and for the RT/RT-S, the EVO in itself doesn't really provide bang for the buck. I'm figuring because the RT/RT-S is 227 pounds heavier than a GS/RS.

The swaybar makes a huge difference, even on the RT. I did mine as soon as they were available since I was waiting for anyone to make shocks for the RT. After market shocks may come one day, but for now, the 2011 shocks and swaybar combo is working just fine.

OK, I've already upgraded my shocks and more than likely will go with EVO sway bar also Can't hurt....Plus it give a good reason to work on RT...

My only point was ...

First ... there ARE aftermarket shocks for the RT series. They're made by Elka.

Second, my point was, with stock shocks, one will certainly note a difference with an EVO sway bar. However, the Elka upgrade will not only be the best investment on a suspension upgrade; but on the RT series, upgrading to the Elka will eclipse the benefit of the $$ spent on the EVO. They're just that good. They completely flattened the roll on my RT, and combined with the DPS recall, it couldn't hold a line mo' better. Therefore, before buying the swaybar and then the Elkas, just buy the Elkas and make sure your Spydie has the DPS recall done. With Elkas and the DPS recall, on the RT, you're almost guaranteed to no longer need the EVO. I confess that people can do with their $$ what they wish; but I'm just sayin'.

When I did mine, there weren't ANY after market shocks for the rt. I have had elka's on 3 quads so far and they are nice shocks. One day I will do the rt, but its gonna be after a motor upgrade and power adders. Lol

You can buy both the EVO swaybar & the 2011 RT shocks for way less $$ than the Elkas, and unless you are driving a lot of hi-speed twisties, you will be just as happy!
