There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. The Opinions of the Uninformed

Interesting article. I will admit that I only went through the first 3 pages. It is interesting to see what the Suzuki riders think about our brand.

Bear in mind that this is a slightly different group than we are used to dealing with. Remember the ice cream truck posts.

I did not find the comments as visious as some we have looked at in previous threads.

Live and let live, I guess.

:agree:I ride a Spyder And Two wheelers, It all depends on what i feel like at any particular day. I think too many Spyder owners are a little insecure.

Hahahahaha... you read that, and you came away with the conclusion that SPYDER owners are insecure? ;)

There is room for both the Spyder and motorcycles in this world-- heck, even in my garage (if I, ummm, had one right now... dang driveway living sucks). They're very similar experiences-- I have to put on a helmet and look for cagers either way-- but they are also very different (goooodbye, gravel anxiety).

I don't want to drink the BRP kool-aid or anything, but it *is* a unique machine-- and not a "convertible Civic".

As a minority of riders, Spyder owners are understandably defensive about what they love and enjoy (and even a little evangelical!).

I love love LOVE motorcycles. A properly dressed HD is a wonderful machine. I would never begrudge anyone riding two-wheels, or preferring two-wheels to three (just as I'd never begrudge people staying in cars-- I love sports cars and convertibles, they all go fast in their own style... just keep an eye out for us little people on the road).

Now, I admit, the *looks* of the Spyder are polarizing, and they lend itself to the judgment of many friends that it's a snowmobile/waverunner for the road (as if that's a BAD thing-- since when are snowmobiles not fun?). That's Can-Am's heritage, they go from what they know, and you either love it or hate it. Me, I *like* it, but like many I see room for stylistic improvement. I'm sure we'll get a different look vehicle in the next generation, and other companies will market their own three-wheelers (if they ever do... here's hoping, as competition is a *good* thing).

Anyway, no insecurity here. Precisely the opposite-- heck, when have early adopters EVER been insecure about anything?

Well,
I read the whole thing. I found it interesting that they seemed to hate the commercials more than the Spyder itself. And it wasn't everyone, just a few. My favorite was the "snob" who said they would never wave at a Spyder. That is just plain silly.

Deb,

I wouldn't wave to a Spyder either...I would wave to the Spyder-Ryder though! ;)

As far as that thread goes, stupidity and jealously are easily intermingled, eh? They fear what is becoming a big hit and will take attention away from them. Sad...actually pathetic...all those 'tough' Suzuki?? bikers whining away...how lame...Suzuki bikers complaining?

Well, I wave at any rider coming at me with their knees in the breeze. Doesn't matter what they are riding. I'd say that I get waved back at about 80% of the time. There are a lot of new riders out there that do not know about "the wave" and why we do it.

Anyway, I'm in the live and let live camp. I don't care what anyone else rides. And I don't care what anyone else thinks of my ryde!!

Really people, there are more important things to get bent out of shape about in the world.

Hey Bone, I stand corrected. Now it is my turn. I don't think that was an HD site I believe that was a Suzuki site. Just goes to show you, nice folks and snobs alike ride many different models and bikes.

I didn't find it too bad really--- there were a few defending the Spyder---one who even owns one.

Most are just not educated about the Spyder --- they just know it looks funny. If they take the time to look over the specs and find out they can RUN --- it changes their opinion pretty quick.

I will say the Spyder looks much better from the side or the rear as compared to the front. Front is still a bit snow-mobile-ish looking-- where the rest doesn't.

I ride with HD guys all the time-- went to Sturgis last year and I can say that I never heard a negative thing about my Spyder from anyone. Actually just the opposite--- was welcomed and people really seemed to like it.

Try as I might, I never have understood this kind of thing. When I was growing up, we were enchanted by each and every type of motorcycle, car, scooter, go kart, or motorized skateboard (thanks, Von Dutch) that came along. The good old boys on the Duo-Glides were interested in the Honda 50s (curiosity, I suppose) almost as much as we were in their Harleys.

I have ridden a lot of things, for a lot of miles, in the 53 years I have been riding. I have owned a lot of makes. I have seven different makes in the garage now, representing a lot of different genres. I have fallen off motorcycles at faster speeds than the average rider has ever ridden. I have won trophies, tested my mettle, and experience disappointment, both with my machines and myself. I have earned the right to ride anything I please! I could care less what anyone else says or thinks about it. I am as proud to own and ride a Spyder, as I am my Triumph, BMWs, rare Hondas, or even drive my hotrod. There always will be boo-birds...ignore them. Why add to their hit count by visiting such sites? :dontknow:

+1 I even wave at mopeds but they rarely wave back. I hope they aren't being a "moped snob" towards me. :D

Entertaining to read, I think some are just self-validating due to the fact BRP is running the largest add campaign at the moment, the Spyder will not replace 2-wheelers, and I don't feel anyone wants it to. To each their own and always amazed how one persons pleasure can irritate another.nojoke

+1 :agree::2thumbs: I dig most anything mechanical and have ridden two wheels, three wheels, had hot rods, lifted 4x4s, and the list goes on. Enjoy what you rYde and let the rest be "water off a ducks back"!

Deb,

Right on...modified my post! I also thought there were plenty of those who liked the spyder...probably some jealousy/misunderstanding...wouldn't think those with metrics would be that way!
