• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear axle nut question

I had a bracket made to relocate my license plate and it fits under rear axle nut. My question is if I take off just one side will it throw anything out of balance? Also I don't have a torque wrench how critical is the torque spec? I know its important but will it cause damage?

Thanks in Advance

Removing that nut won't affect belt tension or anything else as you will not be turning the belt adjusting screws. While torque is very important, few use a torque wrench on that nut I suspect. I use a 12" shifting spanner and do it 'fairly tight' ie as tight as it felt to loosen plus a 'a little bit extra' (technical term). :D

I have two torque wrench's. Haven't used them since the 70's, Till i got the Spyder, I use them on the front sprocket nut , And the rear axle nut.
Two very important items that you don't want to come lose.

Yer nuts if you don't use a torque wench on something as important as lug-nuts and axle bolts!
