Is there any way you can take a RS/RS S and turn it into somewhat RT S or a touring machine?:chat:

You can add saddlebags, backrest, a different seat, and some ergonomics, and make an RS more comfortable for sport touring, but you will never turn it into an RT. You will spend quite a bit of money doing it, too, possibly enough to buy the base model RT. In my opinion, if you want full touring get the RT, but for sport touring or sport riding, the RS is a good choice. Both are good values. Let the function and intended use be your guide, and not the $$.

Here is my advice, call or meet some of your local spyderlovers and you'll get a good idea of "WHY" you would choose one over the other.

Personally, I bought my GS before the RT was out, and I wouldn't have bought the RT as I like to throw my GS around and I can remove my hard cases when I want to be sporty. My GS is personalized to my tastes and mine only and I'm quite happy with my choice.

:agree: Test drive both models to see what fits YOU the best. First of all--I like big touring bikes with a lot of comfort accessories. I started with the GS because that's all there was at first. Added over $5000.00 of accessories to it---pictures in 2009 Alaska album. It looked like a tourer--but did not handle or ride like the RTS. When RTS came out--I went to that, and have never looked back. I do have a Vulcan 900 cruiser for just running around though.
