• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I'm curious to know how you Spyder Lovers feel about

I see people wear HD gear all the time that have never even been on one I'm sure--- no big deal at all. Many women have hubbys that ride HD's and thus have HD riding gear--- would be a waste of money to buy a second set.

HD makes more money from clothing sales than all other items COMBINED. They essentially have become a clothing retailer that happens to also sell motorcycles. nojokemuch higher profit due to hardly any of it

And of course the clothing is being made in the USA....:gaah:

Wear what ya want!:thumbup:

I believe you when you say they make a ton of money on their clothes. Outragiously priced. My jacket was on the clearance rack and it was still up there in price!! :yikes: Also, a couple weeks ago, I went to the Harley Davidson store while I was at the Lake of the Ozarks and all their store had was mostly clothes and about 8 bikes. Plus I didn't find anything that said buy me either.

BRP is still new to the motorcycle. They havn't realized it yet that not everybody is slim, trim and young like their advertising models. It takes them all awhile to figure out how much buisness they are losing to after market. Logo or name does not make it fit. Fit is more important to me. If your comfortable with it wear it. :thumbup:

I totally agree. The average person is NOT on the thin side. :shocked: I've been reading and they (whoever wrote the article and did the statistics) are saying the average biker (Harley, anyway) tends to be over 40. And everyone knows it's harder to keep the weight off the older we get due to the changes in our metabolism. LOL ;)

I guess I just like to p*** off my Harley buddies so I stick with the Can Am stuff and wear shorts and sandals most of the time. But really I just like the freedom of not having to be like them, meaning they feel required to wear their badges, not all but most...

:roflblack:

Funny - some seem to be more about the looks and others about the function of the clothes-- sometimes hard (and expensive) to find BOTH. I'm sure I look plenty goofy in my Blue Froggs when it's raining--- but the darn things WORK so I could care less!

Wear all the HD gear ya want----Just so long as you actually take a bath every now and then to differentiate yourself from an actual HD rider...... Lol

:agree::agree::agree::agree:PEEEEEEE UUUUUUUU !!!

The only place I buy riding gear is at the Harley dealer. The stuff at the other dealers is either cheap, or not worth the price.

I wear Harley jackets, "T" shirts (although I have a fine selection of Spyder "T"s now), belts, etc. All top notch gear.

Pretty much all the riding gear I have is HD labeled. It's good stuff and I can't justify not using it when riding the :spyder2:. Haven't been given a hard time by other HD riders yet. Only thing I have noticed is when riding and passing HD riders is now I only get about 75% of them to wave vs. about 95% when I rode the Ultra Classic. :dontknow:

I wear whatever I already own. :)

Wear what you already own, or like, or what fits. Money doesn't grow on trees. That's my thoughts.

......you must be mistaken for an HD rider frequently, huh?

:roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack:

As many times as we go to the HD dealer to check out clothes and accessories (about 2-3 times per month) I have yet to meet one of these riders that needs to bathe. In fact, most are the yuppie type; is that term still in use?

If you own it wear it. I have worked at two Harley dealerships after retiring. The gear is ok, but there is better out there like Vanson leathers. Try doing a search for american made motorcycle gear, there is alot out there you just have to look. Most HD stuff is Chinese, not as all american as they want folks to beleive.
Just traded in one Harley for spyder, and sold the other. :cus: yes I will still wear any HD (hundred of dollars) gear I got left.

Big Riding clothes for women

Hi Sweetie!!! I have the same problem - 5' 71/2", weight fluctuates between 260-269 (FINALLY got below the 270 mark!!! - have lost over 100 lbs in the past couple of years) I also was looking at the harley jackets as they were big enough to go around. Found a site called Leather Up - found a great Xelement Extreme Black and Gray Tri-Tex Fabric Jacket with Breathable 3 Way Lining with Level-3 Advanced Armor in a 5x - reg $219.95 - got it for $89.95. Great people to deal with - some of the best prices I have seen for leather jackets in a very long time!!! Hope that helps you:thumbup:

Your gear

You go ahead and wear gear that is your protection and comfort. In the end, it's your hide( no pun intended) and nobody else's. Furthermore, it's your ride and only you can do that. End of rant. Now, we still have our Goldwing patches on our jackets and don't see their removal anytime soon. It's where we came from and we still treasure the time we spent on 2 wheels. Now, if somwbody can come up with a reasonably priced Spyder patch of about 4 to 4 1/2 inches....

Did a fundraiser ryde this past Saturday. It ended at a Harley dealer. Door prizes were given and the wife won a really pretty white three season coat with a nice Harley emblem. She asked if I minded her ryding the :spyder2: with it on. Told her it didn't matter to me in the least. Hey, it was free anyway.:ohyea:The only thing I got was heartburn from the hotdogs:opps:

I know this is a late reply, but just read the post. I NEVER owned a Harley. Well, more exact... I did work in and own a Honda shop at one time and of course we had Harley's sometimes in trade, so I got to ride them. In the past few years I got in the habit of collecting Harley T-shirts from Harley shops in various places I had either never visited before or towns I was familiar with and found Harley shops. I wear them all the time when I ride my Spyder. No one has complained, but I get neat comments on the shirts from places like Munich and Sydney...:2thumbs:

Just bought my yellow Spyder yesterday - have plenty of old Harley leather and more recently BMW textile - in red to match the red BMW. Always ATG*ATT.
My real issue is - Will my red jacket clash too much with my yellow Spyder???
:clap::clap::clap:
